VIDEO: Would-be Trump sign thief foiled by booby trap, ‘faceplants’ in yard

An Indiana homeowner set up a security camera to catch a thief stealing his Donald Trump yard signs — but he also captured a moment of Karma, as well.

The Indianapolis resident, who didn’t want to be identified, caught a woman trespassing and grabbing his signs on Thursday.

But it also caught her taking a spill when she didn’t realize the booby trapped sign was tied to the house.

Can you or anyone else turn it into an animated gif? It is freaking hilarious and everyone needs to see it.

Yep, I watched it a number of times. Looks unnatural.

I like the countermeasures. More technology = fewer idiots getting away with sign stealing.

I still say a couple of electrical wires conspicuously fastened to the signs (but with no volage applied) would give most potential thieves pause. Or low-tech options like something really sticky (tar?) or something will make nasty permanent stains would be good.

I wonder how long a bead of superglue will remain capable of sticking a sign to human skin?

Yep. I’m in planning to put a bunch around my property, along with cameras. Tired of working my garden only to have 2-legged animals help themselves.

Yes there was a Ren and Stimpy song, “Don’t Pee on the Electric Fence”.

Put the signs further back on the property, then follow the 3S rule.

Cultivating a yellow jacket nest on the back of a sign is a cheap and effective option.

In 2000, I lived on a fairly busy (especially during rush hour) two-lane county highway. Our house was set back hundreds of feet and did not have a view of the street. After 2 or 3 Bush-Cheney signs were stolen I went down with a long extension letter and posted a sign as high up in a tree facing the morning rush hour traffic. The sign remained in tact through the election, the Bush v. Gore nonsense, and inauguration.

I thought about other options like poison ivy and carefully taped razor blades but I did not want some itchy, fingerless psycho coming after me.

I put pine tar on the edges of my Bush signs in 2000 after my first two sets of signs were stolen from my yard. I found the pine tarred signs laying in the yard one day. Don’t know who took them but I had the satisfaction of knowing they had some nasty cleanup to do.

I taped a row of fish hooks across the upper back of my Bush signs. Every day I would go out and check the hooks for flesh or blood. Lol.

Looks fake, the way her feet fly in the air is bogus

Doing it in broad daylight seems a little off, too, but it makes for clearer video. Fake but accurate?

As a ex-farmboy I learned early not to ever tinkle on one.

An old farmer in our area hooked his fence wire directly to the electric socket with an extension cord. The bull got his chain caught in it and it killed him.

We’ve done the same years ago with squirrels at the bird feeder. Hair burning sure stinks, but they keep coming back minutes later, burnt hair and all.

The tenant farmers on my grandmother’s place had a pigpen, with one huge hog that kept breaking out of the pen. They decided to fix that with an electric fence on the enclosure. The hog would get a running start, begin squealing before he ever hit the electric fence and then bust right through it.
