To fund construction of a new U.S. border wall, Donald Trump and senior advisers are considering various ideas, including the use of assets seized from drug cartels and others in the illicit drug trade.
As the debate over who will pay for the wall dominates the discussion on cable news, sources involved in the pre-planning of the GOP nominees Mexico trip told LifeZette the Trump camp is looking for innovative ways to pay for the construction of the border wall that both countries can support. Sensitivities in Mexico regarding Trumps visit, and specifically paying for the border wall, are running high.

Why can’t we just fund it? It’s not THAT expensive.
Since Trump is big on government helping people in need, he could do a “shovel-ready-project” pitch, a stimulus where he hires people displaced by the illegal immigrants to build the wall.

So seizing El Chapo’s assets in the US is unconstitutional?

Trump could easily ‘fund the wall’ with income taxes collected from untaxed money flowing from illegals back across the border.............no problem.

The banks will LOVE this. I’m thinking this means seizing giant dope accounts in big international Banks.
Best...election....ever.

Wasn’t it already funded a few years ago? I seem to recall congress approving the money for a border fence and funding it.
What happened to that money?
That said, I have no doubt that a man with Trump’s business savvy will find a creative solution. Mexico will pay for the wall, one way or another.
The nitwits in the media are nowhere near bright enough to understand.

However, I thought seized assets were forfeited to us anyhow after the trial. So in realty, it's not a new source of funds to pay it off. Instead of going into the general Uniparty slush fund it goes to funding the wall.

I see a series of holding camps....supervised by Sheriff Joe all along the border....where illegals will build the wall pas part of their sentence for being illegals.
I would like to see asset forfeiture laws applied to illegals. Give them a deadline to self-deport. After the deadline and upon arrest, all assets are forfeited to pay for law enforcement and to build the wall.
Obama built a police state to use against the American people. Let's hang Haman with his own noose. Turn the domestic army towards enemies foreign and domestic. After cleaning out the criminal aliens, the domestic army can go home and find a job.

Media wants us all to argue over how the wall will be built.
I don’t really care. They can use tax dollars if they want. Just build it!
Yep... Mexico will pay! Trump hasn’t yet said how, but he knows. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Go Trump!

Wait a minute, is this brilliant? Aren't these monies @ Treasury? Doesn't the POTUS have controls over Treasury that don't require Congressional approval? Does that mean he can access these monies at 11:00am EST after being sworn in on 01/21/16?
Now on the builders....
* POTUS can use "force" for 90 days w/out Congressional Approval.
* Declare the border a hostile zone and...
* Order the Coast-Guard to secure it and...
* They ask 8 teams of Seabees to built it 2 per state, start at the borders and meet in the middle.
* Israel is brought in as the design team and consultants.
Tell me how and why this can't work..

While I agree with each of you, we really haven’t established a net new source of revenue to build the wall. My guess too is the cost will far outstrip the money confiscated.
To: Vince Ferrer
Agree! I was just thinking same thing. Trump now has everyone assuming there will be a wall. It’s a done deal. So why should anyone assume he won’t get Mexico or Mexicans or some other group of South American countries to pay for it. Go Trump!

Heavy equipment will build the wall. Track hoes will dig the trench and cranes will set concrete panels.
