The organization said Kaepernicks comments show the quarterback has an incredible lack of knowledge regarding our profession and officer-involved shootings, but also shows a naivety and total lack of sensitivity towards police officers.
The SFPOA asked the NFL and the 49ers to separate themselves from the comments.
While the SFPOA acknowledges Mr. Kaepernicks right to speak his point of view and we stand by this right, we also recognize your organizations ability to denounce his foolish statements and separate yourself from his actions, the letter read.
Both the 49ers and the NFL have issued statements saying players are not required to stand for the national anthem.
The SFPOA closed the letter by offering Kaepernick, any member of the 49ers or the NFL the opportunity to come and spend time at the police academy to get a first-hand idea of the training of a police officer.

I’ll tape the jets and FF through commercials. In about 5 games, when their season’s over, I’ll stop watching.
The bottom line is, the players making these protests are spitting in our faces. They think they’re more important than the loyal fans. We should show them they have to toe the line like everybody else in society has to do. There are norms of behavior and just because you want to spit in everyone’s face and make people listen to you in a venue where they only want to watch football, you shouldn’t be given the freedom to do so. Too many people have been fired, fined and had their lives destroyed for tweeting a dumb tweet. My point is, fire these players’ bleeping butts and let them stand on a street corner with a sign if they want to send America a message. I don’t want to see this sh** on my TV screen at the next game I watch on TV.
I care a lot, no need to shout.
We all have freedom of speech. SO LET”S SPEAK!!
“Both the 49ers and the NFL have issued statements saying players are not required to stand for the national anthem.”
Well why not? They are employers. They can mandate they stand if they wanted to. You know, there is only limited free speech in the workplace. Don’t believe me go to work tomorrow and say the boss sucks and the competition has better products.
Would this be the same San Francisco Police Officers Association that donates 99% of its political contributions to DemocRAT candidates who turn around and use the money to pay for cop-hating rent-a-mobs?
Spare me.
Even if we were in the middle of selling a hot dog.
The Anthem ends, then we were allowed to finish the transaction.
If we did NOT follow those rules, it was an automatic termination.
I’d seen him, but with a name like Kaepernick, I didn’t realize he was African-American (or Halfrican?). I guess, like Obama, also raised by white folks, he had to go radical and be “down with the struggle” to prove himself to be Authentically Black, and also to hold San Francisco Values (anti-American).
Also totally incorrect
Well... maybe a day at the one attended by Steve Guttenberg.
There is a vast socio-economic upside to choosing the non-white side as your so-called (Marxist) identity; there is equally a vast downside to choosing the white side.
What if security never showed up to staff the 49’s next home game? They might sit it out?
I gave up on pro sports years ago.
High school is about as far as I will go.
However, having said that, I am very interested in following the Lingerie Football League. Something about athletic women in pads and garter belts playing full contact football that appeals to my baser nature. It is also very possibly the best return on your sporting buck!
I just realized that no where in my General Orders does it say that I have to stand or salute the National Standard.
I do it because it is expected of me and I want to.
Perfect.
Good one! :-)
(The greasy, grimy, gruesome little germ!)
