Dr. Kelli Ward may end up pulling off a surprise victory against longtime incumbent Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Tuesday, as new polling from Breitbart News Network and Gravis Marketing shows a razor thin lead for McCain.
Ward, a former state senator who stepped down from that post to focus on the U.S. Senate race, trails McCain with Arizona Republicans by just four points heading into election day. Ward gets 33 percent in the latest Breitbart/Gravis poll compared to McCains 37 percent. Twenty-three percent of the likely GOP primary voters are undecided walking into election day.
*snip*
McCain can feel good about his four-point lead, but he should also feel anxious about the 23 percent of the Republican voters telling us they are unsure, said Doug Kaplan, the managing partner of Gravis Marketing the Florida-based firm that executed the poll.
The other thing that should make McCain worry is that Ward is holding him below 50 percent, which is a critical benchmark for an incumbent, Kaplan said.
Longtime Democratic pollster Patrick Caddell, who worked for President Jimmy Carter, told Breitbart News the poll proves that the Arizona GOP Senate primary is a close race and it will be determined by who shows up on primary day. Arizonas early voting will also play an interesting role, he said.
We see that the early voters favor McCain and the later voters favor Ward, he said.
Another twist that goes against McCain is that the less likely voters are backing him and the more likely voters are backing Ward, Caddell added.

Prayers up for a Dr. Kelli Ward victory.
Adios Juan!
No Amnesty for McCain!
District election vs State election. Oh and most polls were dead on for Ryan.
+1. Exactly.
Need term limits NOW!
Hadn't thought of that, encouraging.
“Are there THAT many stupid people in AZ??”
When McCain ran against challenger J.D. Hayworth last time, McCain outspent Hayworth 16 to 1. Money matters....especially when you flood the media with Grade A BS( read Bare-Faced LIES) like McCain does.
God bless you!
I’ll never forget how Glenn Beck helped bury Hayworth in the last primary there. Sickening.
One ‘government aid’ commercial was run again-and-again to make Hayworth look a little shady. And never forget — Glenn Beck piled on for all he was worth.
But heck, McStain is covered in manure.
I got a kick out of her statement:
“I’m ready to MIX THE MORTAR to FIX THE BORDER!”
MAKE US ALL PROUD ARIZONA!
RETIRE MCCAIN!
Marco looks to be winning his Senate Primary in a lanslide, but AZ might be different.
He was known by the name of “Songbird”...
8:07 MST, and still nothing?
McCai will just call in ACORN to get him elected.
