Donald Trump on Thursday ruled out supporting a pathway to legal status for undocumented immigrants, but declined to say if he still supports deporting everyone in the U.S. illegally. "There's no path to legalization unless they leave the country," Trump told CNN's Anderson Cooper following an event in Manchester, N.H.

Doesn't sound like a softening to me but that's just my opinion and interpetation. Trump or Hillary? LOL what an easy choice.
“Doesn’t sound like a softening to me but that’s just my opinion and interpetation. Trump or Hillary? LOL what an easy choice.”
He could soften to a molten jello on a freakin marshmallow and he would still be better than Hillary.
Precisely
Some sunshine patriots need to toughen
He’s going to enforce the law. That’s all he’s ever said.
And no, Mark Levin, he’s hasn’t adopted Mario Rubio’s immigration plan. Get off the air, ya big dummmy!
Good, he needed to make this declaratory statement.
To leave the impression that he was backsliding on the rule of law could have cost him the election.
Chip away at Hillary’s base. Get 15% of blacks and 30% of Hispanics. You are set. After the election, just enforce the laws. It is not like deportations don’t happen. They just happen without talking about it from the pulpit. Even under obola, millions are deported (but get back, but that is another story).
I think Sessions showing up at his recent rallies more than proves it.
If he came out for amnesty, he would lose, even against the Hildebeast.
He got where he is because people believed he would stand up for the rule of law.
If he didn’t, as they say, What difference does it make?
This approach was started by Rush, I think. He said illegals who had not committed any crime other than coming here would be able to stay by paying taxes and a fine, but they would not have citizenship and so they could not vote. Let’s see how those compassionate Dems like that idea!
I really don’t know what all the alarm about him changing his mind on immigration. I’ve listened to all of his speeches, and he brings up immigration in every single one, and he hasn’t waivered or changed any. It’s all those who take what the loons on TV say that have spread this garbage.
No, deportations are way down. He is claiming border turnarounds as deportations when they were never counted that way in the past.
Yep. They misinterpret on purpose.
There is no need for forced deportations, want illegals to leave..SIMPLE..cut off their Govt freebies..adios welfare, adios food stamps..and WATCH THEM LEAVE on their own
I think the only thing I can see is that he is going to enforce the laws but not go full out like Ike did with folks who have not broken the law etc. and maybe leave them alone if they pay all of their taxes.

Calm down, he will not come out for “amnesty”. What he will come out for is the status-quo position — “follow the law, but let them stay if they fit {criteria} with certain {restrictions}”. And his supporters would still support him. And Hispanics (like 30%) would see that as reasonable and vote for him. That is his ticket to the Presidency.
Bingo. Take their incentives away will do much of the work.
I don’t care who stays (not criminals) as long as they:
1. Don’t get citizenship
2. Don’t receive any government benefits.
and e-verify has to be 100% in place.
The only “impression of backsliding” was the MSM misconstruing what he had said....
