The news organization says it does not have any legal obligation to provide a comments section because NPR indirectly receives federal funding.

Guess they got tired of being shown how biased and untruthful they are.
“Why would Nasty Pervert Radio be frightened of public comments?”
Too much freedom to escape the narrative.
They will NOT escape being shown how biased they are. They will NOT escape our narrative. Stay tuned.
Maybe this only affects NPR.org and not WAMU’s comment sections. It wouldn’t surprise me if WAMU did it, too, but so far, the Disqus comment plug-in is still up at WAMU, and as you can see for this coming Sunday’s show, Murray is still pig-headedly stuck on screwing up the intro line-up: http://wamu.org/programs/the_big_broadcast/16/08/28/the_big_broadcast_aug_28_2016#disqus_thread
If the Leftist monopoly can’t control the speech, they will remove the vehicle of speech. This is a product of a mental disorder I call totalitarianism. NPR had better get off their high horse because no one will give a rat for them when they fall off.
Another uses heavily biased mods that will delete certain comments without provocation, while leaving leftist comments alone.
Yup, that used to be the case here to until they pulled all their comment sections. I brought this up to the news director that we are in the middle of conservative America and there was domination by liberals on their comment sections, you'd think we were dominated by liberals here in middle America.
I told them I knew they were gaming their own comment sections or allowing it to happen that way, or the deceptive perception, in order to help influence and push the liberal narrative. I never got a response back from that one.

Yeah! And I didn’t like Rob that much (his speech problem was hard to listen to), but I like him MUCH more than Murray.
They’re democrats, they get away with everything.
” Nazi Propaganda, Relentlessly”
More like, Nazi Propaganda Reprogramming...
Yeah, now that we have what we have, I miss Rob. I miss Ed terribly, though.
Don’t like what they’re hearing eh?
They’re called “underwriters”.
I used to work in public TV and some higher ups got a little tense if anyone referred to them as commercials.
Freedom of speech on taxpayer funded networkL
Persh the thought.
Okay. I’m not going to correct the spelling.
Figure it out.
If you have to ask...
What good is propaganda if their "facts" are exposed to challenge?
Anti Trust break up.
Give PBS II to the Tea Party.
Chop NPR in half, given to the Tea Party.
When you have an unprosecuted multiple felon in line to become Chief Law Enforcement officer of the United States, there's nothing to debate any more.
