There are two indisputable facts surrounding Target’s decision to allow men to use the same bathrooms and changing rooms as women and little girls.
First, Target’s stock has taken pounding since April. Second quarter earnings fell to $680 million, according to Market Watch. And revenue fell 7.2 percent.
Second, more than 1.4 million consumers have joined American Family Association’s nationwide boycott of the nation’s second-largest discount retailer.
The debate is whether there is a correlation between those two facts.
Target CEO Brian Cornwell told Fortune magazine in May that the transgender bathroom policy has nothing to do with their financial wellbeing.
“To date we have not seen a material or measurable impact on our business,” he said. “Just a handful of stores across the country have seen some activity and have been impacted.”
But American Family Association believes their boycott is having a significant impact on Target’s bottom line.

But many people don't know that as Sam's Club is a part of Walmart, Costco is part of Target.
Well, they’ll never admit they are WRONG, because if they admit they are WRONG than the .00001% of the population who are so mentally ill that they can’t accept their own biology will scream bloody murder, so better they anger well over 50% of the rational population instead.
TGT is the next KMart. They have put themselves in a no win... their insane policy on this, is the equivalent of Obama embracing the “arab spring” it will haunt them for decades assuming they manage to last that long.
Thanks for reminding me. I feel for their employees but will not patronize Target because of their stupid RR policy. Will ask my wife to do the same.
Don’t waste your time talking to a store manager, they have ZERO input on corporate policy, that makes about as much sense as the moron berating the poor girl in the drive through at a Chick Fil A.
The only people who will change this, are the board members, they are the person who can fire the CEO.. and I wouldn’t hold my breath on them doing it... and if they do, don’t hold out expect the board to openly admit that the policy was stupid.. even though I have never seen a more stupid move by a large corporation in my entire life.
Apparently they took their store name too seriously (or at least too literally).
Sears is still hanging on by its fingernails - but everyone assumes it to be doomed. At this point, why not swing for the fences? Sears should run an ad that references its own past and Target's troubles. Sort of a "Yes, we've made our share of mistakes - but we still know which bathroom is which."
If the mob of social justice warriors then drags them down like a pack of hyenas, at least they went down fighting.
Life is full of choices.
I choose to NOT ever go in to another target.

In Grand Rapids, MI there’s a Target store literally next-door to a Cabelas.
I’ve seen how Target treats their customers.
They cannot be gone too soon for me.

Costco and Target are totally separate companies and have no relationship.
The nearest Target is about a four minute walk for me. Walmart is a 8 minute drive. Guess where I never, ever go?
