That’s just how it is. Depressing, but true.
The author is saying that Trump is cheap, mindless, stupid entertainment. People who watch stupid TV programs really like Trump and will vote for him.
The author gets it 100% wrong. People who watch “Who be yo daddy?” are going to vote for hillary. The “2 and 1/2 men” fans are pulling the Democrat lever.
A really strange article, written by an incompetent author, who really thinks he is convincing us to vote for Hillary because she is boring entertainment.
We haven’t had 65% eligible voter turnout since 1908. Most of the time since that it has been much less, and of course local and state elections and even lower.
So would be worse or better off if turnout was consistently higher? I suspect a higher turnout would only increase the swing voters as a %, the folks who vote based on things like perceived popularity of a candidate or an accidental debate flub or someone’s appearance. The really wild thing is that the 10% or so of eligible voters who are swing voters supposedly decide all elections, no matter if a con or lib or pub or dem wins, based on how they happened to be swayed that cycle.

There are a gazillion graduates of universities in English or literature or some such who can write very well and are looking for remunerative employment. But the media doesn't hire them. Instead it hires bimbos like this meathead.
The problem is that to write well you have to be able to think - meaning marshalling facts and arguments to lead to a conclusion. They clearly don't want any of that.
