While I (Weeble) doubt that the Russians had anything to do with the DNC and DCCC hacks, it would make strategic sense for them to prefer Trump over Hillary. In Trump, I think they see a rationale actor with whom they can legitimately deal. In Hillary, they see a psychotic who would have her finger on the nuclear button.

The Russian fear is reasonable.America seems to be transitioning from the dead Republic to Empire. To use an overused analogy- Rome was a functioning empire for a century and more before it had an emperor. America is in exactly that position. America has functioned as an empire since WWII. We don’t have an emperor, yet.

If elected Hillary Clinton will blunder us into war with Russia. If for no other reason this is why she must never become President.
While I can understand that comment, and where it’s coming from, let me offer this up.
Our nation is very divided right now. Obama couldn’t have done a better job of destroying national unity.
I don’t think Hillary would chance lessening the civil strife through a natural inclination to be as one during a conflict with a major enemy.
She’ll instead focus on driving the wedge deeper. If she can force civil war like skirmishes, she’ll be thrilled.

The problem is she’s bellicose on top of having terrible judgment. Bill regrets never being a war President and I think she will make sure she has no such regrets. I’d also note the rush to blame the DNC leaks on the Russians and the media playing along, despite the total absence of any evidence. As the leaking continues and the contents of the leaks gets worse so will the “blame the Russkis” campaign only intensify in a desperate effort to divert attention away from the contents of the leaks. This will continue even after her election.

As insane as it is, the neocon nutballs were also actually trying to do regime change in Russia just like in Libya, Egypt, etc... Obama and Hillary encouraged street protests in the 2011 and 2012 zone aimed at government removal.
That is why Russia expelled nearly all our NGOs and made the few remaining register as foreign agents.
And I think a lot of it was because Obama was deeply angry about the homosexuality cause. He is one and takes it very personally. I remember the first rumbling were at a G-20 meeting in St Petersburg. Obama was visibly upset and rude because Russians had just passed an anti-homo recruitment law.

I still don’t see how, with all the linguistic support of the State Dept and the various Intel agencies, that they could screw up something that simple.
The way Hillary will cause an actual shooting war with Russia is to fall for the modern thinking of neocons and their senior military fellow travelers and think tanks. They have decided that you can probably have a shooting war with Russia, right at or immediately beside their home turf and keep it as a low level fight that wont go nuclear.
Our government is infected with those who are spoiling for a fight in eastern Ukraine. They think an afternoon of F-15s sweeping the skies, some anti-tank interdiction, and some deft moves will leave the Russian slinking home in shame. Just like us, they have lines that will not be crossed. The Japanese thought that the brutal blows of Pearl Harbor and the Philippines would cripple our Navy so badly that we would move to a negotiated cease fire quickly.
Hitler thought he could kick in the door and the whole rotten house would fall in.
Both sides in the civil war expected it to last a matter of weeks. No party to starting WWI expected a 4 year slugfest that was the deadliest war in all of human history.
History is filled with these examples. And now we hear our senior military leaders constantly speaking of short sharp wars with China or Russia.
They are starting to believe their own BS, and they carry a messianic zeal to spread their full control over the earth. We have quite literally become what we fought against in the Cold war, or against Nazi Germany, or Japan. All had the megalomaniac dream of world domination. Now its us. Historically, such nations run out of allies, scare enough people, anger enough people, that others arrayed against them know they must be stopped. THAT is how Hillary will get us into a war.
And that is why we need Trump who only wants to engage the world in trade and business and seem disinterested in constant war and power projection.
I understand all that.
The fact is that we are on the verge of a race war in the United States. Blacks are now killing Whites on a whim.
That isn’t going to go unanswered for much longer.
One hostilities break out between the U. S. and Russia or the U. S. and China, that goes away.
They don’t want it to go away.

I literally think it’s all the coke she did in the 80s when it was flooding through Mena Airport. Anyone who has ever known a coke fiend knows what I mean. Not all, but some dopers are simply rewired and become stone hearted emotionless shells. They speak and act normally, but they are not the person you knew before.
I think she’s a drug induced sociopath. Obama is another. We keep looking for empathy, rational actions, a sane take on islam, etc. It simply isn’t there for their coke fried brains. We are seeing the concept of doper stealing from grandma writ large. Not a hint of morality lives in them.

I fully agree with you, with one caveat. You said that a war with Russia or China would cause a wave of “pull together” sentiment. In normal times, that’s true. But Stalin kept the Gulags alive and will during WWII. The Nazis kept badly needed trains running Jews to the camps even as their own army needed those trains for military purposes.
Governments like Hillary will simply classify us as domestic enemies under the Obama NDAA modifications, fight her external war, and brutally repress anyone at home who has been against her historically.
I think there is a risk she would use an external war as a chance to go after her dissidents here.
I do fully agree with you though, she will never walk away from BLM and other divisive groups at home. But if she can find a way to incorporate them into her war plan and cast us in as a treacherous fifth column, she will.
And we both agree she shouldn’t have the chance!
