Dr. James Tour Tells Us How Little We Know About the Origin of Life
Proslogion ^ | 8-18-16 | Dr. Jay L. Wile

A few days ago, a reader asked me to review an article by Dr. James Tour, as well as a video of a talk that he gave. I was initially hesitant to do so, because Dr. Tour is a giant in the field of organic chemistry. For example, he is the T. T. and W. F. Chao Professor of Chemistry at Rice University. For those who aren’t familiar with the academic structure of universities, only the most elite professors are appointed to a position that is named in honor of someone else. This is called an “endowed professorship,” and anyone who holds such a position is in the upper echelon of academia. He has won several awards for his outstanding research accomplishments, including being named by Thomson Reuters as one of the top ten chemists in the world in 2009. Not only is his research outstanding, but he is also an excellent teacher, having earned the George R. Brown Award for Superior Teaching at Rice University in both 2007 and 2012. What could I possibly add to the words of someone so knowledgeable and distinguished?...

Actually the math does not support such an absurd claim. Every binary factor scales at 2^2^k. So if you build yourself an Excel script, see how big the numbers get. I think the last time I looked at this my poor little laptop could only store up to k=9, at k=10 the number was too big for the computer to hold. So if you have only ten factors going into making a molecule, the number of possible combinations is a UUUUuuuuge number. As soon as you start talking about a single cell organism you are talking about a mini-universe of complexity and an unknowable number of binary outcomes to produce it.

The blueprint for life is built into the mathematics of the tiniest subatomic particle.

Then why hasn't it been reproduced?

Are you saying we know everything about the mathematics of matter and therefore should be able to create life?

Where did you get your degree in quantum mechanics?

Now I get what your saying. You’re saying only God can create life. I am saying God created a universe with the blueprint for living creatures built into the very structure of the matter that composes that universe.

If you still want to argue, go find some two-year old to argue with.

The earth is filled with evidence that it is billions of years old. Flesh humans are what is ‘young’ on the scale of time. And no scientists in the flesh will ever discover the composition of ones soul/spirit intellect. This flesh age has a time stamp of expiration.
