Senior Republicans in Washington are quietly advising the Republican National Committee to continue its financial investment behind Donald Trump, arguing that the committee needs to help keep the race competitive with Hillary Clinton or risk an electoral bloodbath that would flip control of Congress.
As some former and current GOP officials are urging RNC Chairman Reince Priebus to abandon Trump and shift resources down-ticket, others say the party committee needs to prevent Trump from losing by such a large margin that it would make it virtually impossible to hang onto endangered Republican seats.

It occurs to me that one way we can conceive of the scale of Hillary fraud will be to see just how WELL the GOP does down ballot...
Think about it. What if the Rats suffer a crushing defeat of Biblical proportions down ballot but the top of the ticket is “close”.
William Seward was Lincolns Sec of State and Gov of NY, he was said to be a great leader always willing to lead the people anywhere they wanted to go.
They have to stop running him down and backing him all the way...THEY are the problem.. not Trump. They have hacked at him and hit him on all sides.. GET BEHIIND TRUMP!!!
So much for the "I will not run as a third party" promise.
CNN is such a sick, pathetic joke. So glad I don’t have cable or Dish that subsidizes them.
Two CNN dirtbag Nazi apes offering Trump advice. That’s funny.
Trump strategy would be to focus 6 or 7 states. But key lesser races are other states. Do both?
The RNC bailing on Trump would trigger a lot of Trump voters voting against the GOP. I’m not sure they’ve figured this out yet but they eventually will and they’ll tell their people to vote for Trump.
How many “insider stories” can CNN dance on it’s Pinheads?”
But if the supporters really want Trump to succeed, they will need to vote Republicans in to give Trump support from the House and Senate.
You can’t get to the end goal without having both.
The obvious answer is for Trump build and execute a winning campaign against Hillary.
If Trump does well against Hillary during the next weeks and starting Labor Day, Reps and Senators will get closely behind him; if not, they won’t. And it will depend also upon how well Trump is doing in their districts and states.
This is always the dynamic between top of ticket and down ballot, no matter the party or the election cycle.
They had better work harder than they ever have.
If Trump loses, the GOP goes the way of the Whigs.
Clever insight.
Yes, that’s what Trump did.
I get fund-raising solicitations several times a week from the RNC and GOPe incumbents, and I tell them all they will not get a single dime until they unequivocally endorse Donald Trump.
If they lose will anybody notice?
So much for the "I will not run as a third party" promise."
Actually, the Republican Party pushed us away long time ago except when they needed our vote to keep themselves in power and on the gravy train. They didn't get the message from the Tea Party; instead attacked them. They don't get the message today either; instead they attack Trump and his millions of Republican voters. Ask yourself the question: What good the Republican Party did for you or us, or the Country for that matter, for the last few decades?
We, the GOP voters are creating a third party perhaps not even being aware of it. Trump at this time of history is just a uniter and messenger of our common sense.
