Committee discusses combating BDS effort to label Jews on US campuses
"Our support and help for a Jew who is threatened just for being Jewish is from within our souls," says Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman MK Avi Dichter of Jewish students who had "eviction notices" posted on their dormitory doors.

The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee is set to discuss Tuesday a response to a BDS initiative that sought to single out Jewish students on American college campuses, following a report on the issue published by Israel Hayom.
Members of Students for Justice in Palestine, one of the better-known campus BDS groups, posted "eviction notices" on the dormitory doors of Jewish students, demanding that they evacuate in three days or have their property thrown out. The notices posted went on to state that the Israeli military does the same thing to Palestinians.
The stunt prompted outrage among the Jewish student body. It was then reported to members of the Reservists on Duty Israel advocacy organization during a campus tour in the United States earlier this year, raising concern among Israelis.
Ahead of the discussion, which was initiated by MKs Anat Berko (Likud), Nachman Shai (Zionist Union) and Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid), committee chairman MK Avi Dichter (Likud) said, "Our support and help for a Jew who is threatened just for being Jewish is from within our souls."

BDS activists 'evict' Jews from US campuses
"We receive calls for help from many Jewish students. The situation on campus is very difficult. These are the same persecution tactics used against Jews in Europe in the 1930s," says Reservists on Duty President Amit Deri.

On a recent campus tour, members of the Reservists on Duty Israel advocacy organization discovered the extent of anti-Semitism displayed by BDS activists, who posted "eviction notices" on the dormitory doors of Jewish students, demanding that they evacuate in three days or have their property thrown out.
Students for Justice in Palestine, one of the better known campus BDS groups, is responsible for this type of anti-Semitic prosecution. The notices they posted went on to state that the Israeli military does the same thing to Palestinians.
SJP typically undertakes these types of activities during "Israeli Apartheid Week," an annual event during which activists screen films and organize protests, lectures and exhibitions that accuse Israel of apartheid, ethnic cleansing and war crimes.
"It was scary," Nadav Alkoby, a Jewish university student in Florida, told Israel Hayom. "SJP activists hung the signs on our dorm doors and on the Sabbath elevator during the exam period. It stressed everyone out and affected our ability to concentrate on our studies, which seems to have been their goal."
A Jewish student at the University of California, Berkeley, who is active in the Hillel Jewish student organization and chose to remain anonymous, added: "The connection that SJP makes between the fact that we are Jewish and their protest of what's happening to the Palestinians is representative of the issue with anti-Semitism. There needs to be a clear separation between criticism of Israel and BDS. I have no responsibility for what happens in Israel just because I'm Jewish, and they certainly don't need to persecute me on campus because of that."
These anti-Semitic tactics are common at a range of well-known American universities, particularly on the east coast. Jewish students have reported to Reservists on Duty about similar incidents at universities including New York University, the University of Pennsylvania, Connecticut College, Harvard University, the University of California, the University of Oklahoma, the Claremont Colleges, Vassar College and other schools.
In some cases, students approached the campus administration for help in dealing with the situation, but for the most part, the colleges avoided taking action to stop the phenomenon.
In February 2015, UC Berkeley's administration circulated a notice allowing the distribution of what they called political "flyers," but banned activists from posting them in the dormitories. The administration did not condemn the activists' actions or define them as anti-Semitism.
At NYU, some students involved in posting the "eviction notices" were expelled.
Reservists on Duty President Amit Deri said: "We receive calls for help from many Jewish students. The situation on campus is very difficult. These are the same persecution tactics used against Jews in Europe in the 1930s."

Arm up, guys. And stop voting Democrat.
Never again ...
Lefty Jews are going along for the ride.
Much better to choose to label one’s self. Jews are walking billboards for G-d’s presence in the world. Self-labeled with yarmulkas and tzitzis for all to see.
(and arm up, yeah, that too.)
If you are a Jew, learn to shoot and buy a gun. Keep it handy at home or when you go into hostile areas (like campus).
The serpent is still vomiting a torrent of water out of his
mouth to try to destroy the woman (Israel, the Jews). The
Book of Revelation describes it and also those who will
protect the woman from the serpent’s flood.
Gosh. And to think the leftists call conservatives
‘Nazi’s’ ! What a shock to see that these goons make no sense. Except that everyone knows that it is conservatives who are haters./s
The Christian Right embraces Jews and will defend them. The Atheist Left promulgates anti-semitism and will attempt to marginalize them, but most Jews favor supporting the Left. (The Exception being the Orthodox who are great allies.)
They are the Smartest people in the world, but for some reason they sometimes seem incapable of noticing the obvious.
One would have thought that their last close encounter with Socialism would have taught them to be leery of it.
How long before Jewish students are required to wear a yellow patch with the Star of David? Or universities have their own Kristallnacht parties? The mentality of the Brown Shirts is here. Ever wonder how an entire nation could participate or turn a blind eye to the extermination of millions of people? How can we judge the Germans of the 1930’s when we are becoming them? The book “They Thought They Were Free” by Milton Mayer should be required reading in every high school.
Nice of BDS to be so concerned about the unlawful eviction of Jewish settlers from their settlements.
Oh hell, why don’t they just come out and say their cattle-cars are standing by?....................
Anyone, who had so much as ONE functional brain cell could see right from the beginning that BDS/IAW is nothing more than Jew-hate right out of 1930s Germany re-heated, re-packaged and made trendy all over again.
I was in undergrad when the towers came down, and I can still remember how, less than 24 hours later, the narrative was that it was an ‘inside job’ that was done by t3h j000z.
Find out who on campus led this, take him somewhere, bring in some pipe hitting home boys to go to work on him with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch.
Send remains in a box to the BDS group. It will end right there.
Jewish students generally equals leftwing activists. I think I’ll sit this one out as a typical Bolshevik / Menshevik intramural struggle.
Who are the racist financing BDS and who are pushing that agenda?
First they came after the Christians and Catholics now they come after US Jews:-(
Sad.
For some reason, history keeps rhyming.
Just like Old and New testaments’ prophecies that keep coming true.
