The media vs. Donald Trump: why the press feels so free to criticize the Republican nominee
VOX ^ | 8-16-2016 | Ezra Klein

Posted on 08/17/2016 5:02:29 AM PDT by ToxicMich

here is a case to be made that the media created Donald Trump. It was, reportedly, his anger at being dismissed by political pundits that led him to run for president in the first place. And it was, arguably, the media’s wall-to-wall coverage of his every utterance that powered his victory in the Republican primary.

But slowly, surely, the media has turned on Trump. He still gets wall-to-wall coverage, but that coverage is overwhelmingly negative. Increasingly, the press doesn’t even pretend to treat Trump like a normal candidate: CNN’s chyrons fact-check him in real time; the Washington Post reacted to being banned from Trump with a shrug; BuzzFeed News published a memo telling reporters it was fine to call Trump "a mendacious racist" on social media; the New York Times published a viral video in which it simply quoted the most vile statements it heard from Trump’s supporters.

Ezra Klein is the one who coordinates reporting with other left-wing reporters (see: Journolist)

The problem is that in this case the public largely agrees with the media. In other cycles, the media has been hurt by being too anti-Republican, and has had to moderate their message due to lost viewers. In this cycle, stridently anti-Trump rhetoric helps their ratings because he is so widely detested by a majority of the nation’s population.

Everyone in the "mainstream media" works for a giant media conglomerate that is owned lock, stock and barrel by Wall Street.

Hillary Clinton is the Wall Street candidate. She works for the same people who own the media.

It's that simple.

Ezra Klein organized 300+ bloggers and “journalists” who were actively campaigning for 0bama in 2007/08 into what became known as “JournOlist”. It is this group that savaged Palin in 2008, and continued doing so thru 2012.

In other words, Ezra Klein is a dirtbag from the word go.

And if he wins, they will continue to run wall-to-wall negativity about everything he does for the entire time he’s in office.

I see the cowardly Klein doesn't take comments on his site.

He's so nervous about the actions Trump might take against him and his fellow MSM quislings, but you hear crickets about what Obama did to FOX's James Rosen.

Trump hasn't spent a penny yet on ads. He gets 24/7 coverage (ok negative) but some people don't even know who the Demorats are running.

Trump wins 47 states.

Pfft. It happened the moment he became the Republican nominee.

More propaganda from the Ministry.

They feel zero compunction to investigate Hillary. I'm sure their logic is "she's been a public figure for 25 years, we already know everything about her."

The average American doesn't pay attention to politics or politicians but for a few minutes every four years and the media know this. It HAS to be ALL NEGATIVE ALL TRUMP ALL THE TIME during this critical period.

Eventually Trump will have to layout a case AGAINST THE MEDIA as they have been lying to us for at least a quarter-century. (It's amazing how many people STILL parrot the media narrative.) He needs to spell it out, name names, connect the dots. Forget the media message: Only Hillary is Qualified to be President. DISCREDIT THE MESSENGER. The message is then discredited, too.

...and who would your miracle Republican candidate be who would be loved by the media and public at large?

I don't know about that. I get this sense we are being gaslighted by the mediots.

People are afraid to say out loud what they really think for fear of being "labeled". Especially the younger ones. The public is not happy, and while they may mouth the platitudes of the left, they really don't believe them.

He's white, he's male, he's rich, he's Republican, he's perfectly safe to bash.
Whether you like Trump or not, you have to realize the Trump-bashing is 99% orchestrated.
