The meat I eat is Halal? I had pork chops for supper yesterday.
Until lately, when you read about not eating meat sacrificed to idols, you would say, “Glad we don’t have to worry about that anymore!”. WRONG, There baaack!
1 Corinthians 8King James Version (KJV)
8 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
We ask The Lord to bless our food to our bodies and strengthen us for His service in the name of His Son, Jesus.
Halal or road kill makes no difference to me.
Check the lamb you buy at Costco, it’s halal.
I pointed this out to a woman and she called me a liar. Stupid b!tch.
I eat kosher picklesand bagels from a kosher deli.
The whole food thing is a man created thing.
Market Basket sells halal chicken, it is clearly marked on the packaging, they also sell “regular” chicken, (you know, the chicken from the US that is sent to China to be “processed” and then sent back to us, but, I digress). I have never seen anyone buy a package of halal chicken, maybe muslims aren’t up early in the morning when I shop?
Easy solution. Eat pork.
(If you order the Kosher meal on your overseas flight, you will probably end up with the exact same food as someone who orders the Halal meal).
Someday people will get it. Bam is paving the way for our replacements. He wants to make life easy for our new masters.
Eat more pork. As for “meat sacrificed to idols,” St. Paul wrote about that in ICorinthians 8:1 - 11:1. Christians are not commanded in the New Testament to avoid eating and drinking anything in moderation, but for the sake of weak Christians, who are not strong in the freedom of the Gospel, we should refrain from exercising those freedoms that may further weaken their faith. Christians depend on the perfect life and the atoning death of Jesus for their salvation, not in their obedience to the laws of the Old Testament.
why not just say your own blessing over your meat/meal and include words to indicate God is above all else and you pray He will use what you eat for good not evil inside you. Essentially negate or cast out any possible evil/bacteria etc with your stronger faith in God Almighty.
I agree i would not knowingly monetarily support halal products, just as i try to not shop in stores that blatantly support causes I don’t agree with.
How can they make shellfish ‘ha-lal’?
How can they make lobsters halal?
How can they make mudbugs halal?
How can they make andouille halal?
How can they make kielbasa halal?
Nor do we want to put money in the pockets of halal butchers.
I am totally befuddled by this thread. I feel I'm in the twilight zone. If a voodoo doctor waved his hands over the food, does it make it less wholesome, does it make it unsafe to eat? Are potential pathogens increased or decreased?
What is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's charge? Their Job? Is their job modified in any way by religious non-physical intervention? of the physical state of the food?
What is the brouhaha about?
I made two kinds of chicken the other day. Bacon wrapped and prosciutto wrapped. The filling for both was ham, mozzarella, parmesan and crisp bacon. Thrice the pork and delicious.
I think the kill is done Halal, not with a Muslim prayer, however.
I believe an artery is cut and the blood is pumped out by the heart. I’ve heard the animal effectively falls asleep, but I can’t say I have killed this way.
I watched the video...One of the most disturbing I have seen—right up there with the ISIS beheadings...’
where is the FDA and PETA?? This is clearly animal abuse...
These savage barbarians with their horrific customs need to be sent home...
