Aaron Driver planned to commit a terror attack with 72 hours when he was killed in a confrontation with police in the southwestern Ontario community of Strathroy, police said today.
Obviously it was a race against time, RCMP Deputy-Commander Mike Cabana told a news conference in Ottawa today, noting that things could have been a lot worse if police hadnt located and stopped Driver.
The RCMP showed a video at the news conference in which a masked man they identified as Driver, 24, warns, O Canada, you received many warnings
You were told many times what would happen.

That’s right! I had forgotten those.
To a Muslim, even a convert, the only "we" are his fellow Muslims.
I kinda feel sad for this guy. I get the feeling he died thirsty.
Why did they have to kill him when a comfy chair was on the way? His parents said he’d never do that and it’s racist.
You’re right about that.
Also, it’s hypocritical to condemn Americans for being warlike; while we depend on American military power for our own defense.
If allies increase their military powers, the U.S. could reduce military spending by a proportionate amount. That way, the US wouldn’t need to be “warlike”, and the rest of us can stop free-riding. *
* Note: for any of that to work, the U.S. needs to start doing a much better job of picking enemies and friends, and making strategy. Don’t expect much support for continuing the fiasco of the past decade.
Bring it on!
what was your old FR name?
This is what I said in another post — the problem is not Arabs or Asians or Africans — the problem is Islam. This was a blonde white guy infected with the disease that is Islam
I tend to think it’s best if the U. S. does provide those services and other nations make payments to be determined as reasoned by both parties.
This seems a selfish tactic on my part, but I am troubled by the idea the E. U. wants to develop a military on the order of ours. In short order that military and it’s screwed up taskmasters, would be a thorn in our side.
Europe is way to wishy washy on global issues. They sympathize with the Palestinians acting as if their terrorist tactics and death wishes for Israel and the West are just normal aspirations, and should be respected. Ah no, they shouldn’t.
At what point does Europe then become belligerent against us for supporting Israel? At what point does it turn belligerent because it wishes to bend over for Russia, China, or Islamic extremists?
These are serious questions, and it’s these considerations that cause me to think one more massive military body on the planet, is one too many.
Best to keep it as it is, and fork over some fees for your own protection.
It’s not a racket. They don’t have to pay. They don’t have to be our ally. Maybe that will work for them for a while. When it doesn’t, don’t call us.
If the FBI was able to pass along information about this man, why can’t it look into the Clinton Family Foundation ( or whatever it’s called)?
Exactly right !
The NATO “allies” of the USA are outraged that Trump would actually hold them to their spending commitments. (with Canada being one of the worst offenders, it was the one real failing of the Harper gov’t, imo)
The “allies” would rather free ride, then turn around and criticize the size of the USA defence budget.
But, the fact is that the cost of USA alliance commitments has grown exponentially due to big military gains by Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, ISIS...
Even a trillion dollars a year and a draft would not be enough, given the changes. Trump seems to be the only one who grasps this, vs foreign policy “experts” who still seem to think it is ~1998.

I disagree. I think it is dangerous to have weak, pacifist allies.
They know that the USA will come running if they get into trouble, and that makes them even more irresponsible. Look how the EU behaved in the Ukraine. If they had to fight the Russians w/o the USA they wouldn’t cross Putin in any way.
“If the FBI was able to pass along information about this man,...”
how come the FBI is the first to know?
What is the RCMP/CSIS/ITAC doing if they are not all over this guy ?
I really want this name to be a truly fresh start. I want my posts to stand on their merit, not my reputation. ;-)
It’s like I’m a new person. Those who see my posts will get a feel. If you guess right in freepmail I’ll privately fess up.
BTW, my name is based on Green Acres. Some of my neighbors in my fairly new home (last five years) call me that, because my situation is very similar. But it is a term of endearment. I hope. :-)
Democrats and Muslims have much in common.
Violent totalitarian thugs.
Ask the RCMP.
The FBI should not have been the first to know.
That doesn’t change my original question, though.
Do you have an answer?
How would you like to see a U. S. level military in Europe?
Sounds good until you realize it could just as easily as not side with Russia against us.
We would then be the U. S. A. against Russia, Europe, and China. Add to that the terrorist element and you've got four world class attack groups against one.
Europe is fast becoming black-mail rich, due to it's immigration policies. Pretty soon Islam will control Europe, and Europe will simply ask how high when told to jump.
I don't want a world class military there. Twice in the last century that cost the world a global war.
because James Comey is FBI Director. He is doing the job he was put there to do.
“But, the fact is that the cost of USA alliance commitments has grown exponentially due to big military gains by Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, ISIS...”
And yet, it’s the Russians that are winning the day against ISIS. If the Democrats (and especially former SOS, HRC) had 1/10th the diplomatic skills, they expect us to believe they do; they’d be able to form alliances-of-convenience, based on common enemies or interests. A little geo-political jiu jitsu could go a long way.
