Colorado is a right to work state so it is legal some places.
for or against?
“On” is a bad descriptor
It boils down to this: unions want to keep forced membership so they can fund liberals’ campaigns, who will then turn around and give huge benefits (at taxpayer expense) to union members working for the government.
The injunction was against RTW. The title is verbatim from the web site.
25 states, temporarily excluding West Virginia. This ruling affects only WV. The unions’ rationale is poorly supported.
Ia ahw up for re-election soon ? Needs the union vote ?
My first real job out of High School was in a union manufacturing shop. I had been there about a week when a union officer came around and informed me that I had to pay an “initiation fee” equal to a month’s pay to join the union if I intended to keep working. There were monthly dues after that. I quit the next week.
It’s legal in most places. Libtards are desperately trying to get in every shot before the next president is Trump
The union is not about the worker but about the union bosses and their power. They crave the power element so much that they refuse to let the union membership vote on which political candidates or party they want their dues to go to. For all practical purposes all the union political contributions go to the Democrats. It has to be absurd that none of the union members are Republicans and that their preferences should be recognized. If I were a union member this fact alone would cause me to avoid paying union dues if possible.
When workers are able to choose whether to pay dues or not many elect not to. Sometimes the unions have to close up shop because of the defections. Happened in a lot of school districts in WI after Gov. Walker got through with the unions in his state. Not only did hoards of teachers and school employees escape the union dues, but their health insurance premiums went down dramatically also.
This judge must be up for re-election and will benefit from the union support. She will lose in the end and look like the union shill that she is.
Where do these clowns in their black burkas and DNC membership cards get the authority to override the will of the people? America isn’t suppose to work this way.
county Judge? this will get slapped down
Neighboring Virginia is RTW. They are fine as are many other states.
The unions’ own candidate is Barack Obama, who has targeted them with extreme prejudice and all but idled the lone job creator (outside of government and government education) in the state.
It is the height of arrogance - and stupidity - to oppose anything that might increase economic activity but leftism is nihilism and this is merely another example - with the help of a crooked judge.
the deeds of Judges of the Judicial branch are no longer entitled to respect or deference.
Eventually it will destroy that branch.
And how exactly does podunk COUNTY judge have the authority to rule any arbitrary piece of state legislation unconstitutional? I suppose the next thing is that we’ll be having JPs ruling legislation unconstitutional.
BTW, the union argument is equivalent to the NRA demanding that all gun owners be ordered to pay NRA membership fees because they receive the same benefits of representation as dues-paying members.
Unfortunately, Colorado is NOT a right-to-work state: all-Union shops can collect dues from ALL workers:

Good analogy.
Unions dont understand that the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect unions. So, other than legal majority voters, there is nothing in the Constitution stopping the states from using their 10th Amendment (10A)-protected state powers to make right to work laws.
On the other hand, since state government officials probably dont know their 10A powers any better then the citizens who elected them do, pro-union activist judges will probably get away with legislating constitutional protections for unions from the bench.
