Delta Air Lines Inc. has grounded all flights worldwide as a computer glitch is leaving passengers unable to check in.
The second-biggest U.S. airline DAL, -1.78% said via Twitter that all flights are grounded due to a system outage, prompting long delays at airports around the world.

Bummer. Sorry to hear that. Hope you get home, soon.
LOL...that is SO true!! They need to let Hellary in on their *secret*.
The airline industry and the customer experience has dropped like a rock over the past 7.5 years. I fly only when necessary and choose direct flights - it’s really not fun at all.
When I travel, you see CNN on the TVs. However, unless there is a major breaking story, or weather event, people generally are not paying attention.
1) The CNN airport feed constantly rehashes the same stuff
2) People are focused either getting from point A to point B or their phones.
DAL had a data center in Eagan, MN at one time. But I can’t find any online references to it being operational after 2013.
I found the Eegan facility listed in DAL’s Sec 10K filing for 2013. But it disappeared from the 2014 10K filing.
There are news articles that it was sold in 2013:

http://sunthisweek.com/2013/04/01/delta-data-center-in-eagan-sold/
But the articles claim that DAL signed an 8 year leaseback on it. I’m confused...
Can anyone confirm whether the DAL Eagan Data Center is still operational as of 2016?
I no longer fly for business, but fly 3 or 4 times a year for pleasure trips. All I can think about at airports is “G-d damned moslems.” They cost the nation hundreds of billions of dollars per year that we get zero value from. I wouldn’t be surprised if moslems alone cut GDP by a half point every year — and from here to eternity.
The story I heard was that they lost power to their main data center.
IOW, both commercial power and their backup source went bad.
Maybe, maybe not.
I’ve got a Delta flight tomorrow and will really be pissed if it gets cancelled.
Thats pretty sad if true, especially the E Gen going down or not coming up.
I ran a data center for a credit union and the E gen tested its self every Wednesday at 5AM
Mrs. Toast is a Delta Flight Attendant.
I talked to her this morning and she was bracing for a very bad day.
My first thought was this was an intentional hack. If so, they will never tell us.
Pay now or pay later. If they had a work around they would be up and running as we type and no one would be aware of the hit but them.
Yeah, isn't it funny how that seems to keep happening? It's so difficult for people to add up the numbers. Since the event happened, the risk is now 1.0 and the exposure is mounting. Im sure they rationalized the risk to a value so low they decided not to spend the money on the mitigation...
"Glitch" is also allowed by the MSM, for any egregious infraction committed by, or caused by Democrats. See "rollout of Obamacare websites," for example.
Delta is ready when you are.
Well, mostly.
Best of luck.
I was in Omaha in the early 1990’s when my company bought another company. It had been a long time since I saw a downtown area clear out that fast.
???
Great. Now I feel ancient.
That’s a gif from the movie, “Airplane”. Watch it sometime; it’s bladder-buster.
How about an ap to turn it off?
Local news reports that 4 of the next Delta flights out of Charleston, SC. have been cancelled due to the glitch. Could be more cancellations later.
