It’s crazy how i learned the story. A friend from work was doing a documentary about every war in which he could interview a living American solier. This was 15 years ago so I THINK he covered WWI.

My uncle agreed ot the interview as a favor to me, and I think to get it off his chest as he was close to the end of his time here and knew it.

What a video. Geez.

PTSD wasn’t just discovered. He had terrible nightmares his whole life as did my Vietnam brother in law.

And my uncle was TOUGH. No shame in it.

My dad was drafted into the Army,and did a tour in Vietnam...he never talked about his experience there, and it wasn’t until I was older that I understood why.
