The Obama administration insisted Wednesday that its airlift of $400 million in cash to Iran in January wasn’t ransom for the release of five imprisoned Americans, while Republican lawmakers called the move appeasement and demanded that Secretary of State John F. Kerry turn over documents and testify before Congress.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest denied repeatedly that the cash payment was ransom.
“No, it was not. It is against the policy of the United States to pay ransom for hostages,” he said.
Some top Republican lawmakers said the payment, delivered in stacks of foreign currency on wooden pallets in an unmarked cargo plane about the same time Iran released the Americans, was too coincidental to pass the smell test....

The State Department misplaced and lost some $6 billion due to the improper filing of contracts during the past six years, mainly during the tenure of former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, according to a newly released Inspector General report.
Were there any heads that rolled - nope = Sanctioned.
Some of it probably came from this “rainy day fund” they created — You know, to avoid pesky things like oversight.
The money on the pallets was Swiss francs, euros and other currencies. If they had been U.S. dollars, it would have been a violation of Federal law if it was discovered to be ransom money. Obama protected himself by making sure it was not U.S. dollars in that shipment.
The hostages told of sitting in the airplane waiting to take off. They were told the plane would not take off until another plane had landed. That plane held the money shipment. If that plane had not landed, the hostages would not have left the airport and would not have been released. Folks, 2 + 2 = 4.
Don’t focus on the wood pallets. Focus on the money. The money was Swiss francs, euros and other currencies. Why wasn’t it U.S. dollars? Now, go and do your homework.

Well, OFFICIALLY it’s a piece of a payment made against a lawsuit in the so called World Court, but surely this couldn’t be paid without some corresponding allocation by Congress. UNOFFICIALLY of course yes it was a ransom, that’s how both Obama and Iran treated it.

The $400 million was paid in foreign currency because any transaction with Iran in U.S. dollars is illegal under U.S. law.
So Obama deliberately dodged the law by using foreign currency from foreign banks and hiding the smuggling operation from Americans.
Could this be a cunning move by Trump who jolly well DID see that video (if not another one) but “apologized” anyhow in order to propel the issue into prime time.
Can Congress abrogate its own law to authorize this kind of payment? Otherwise this sure looks like not just a smoking gun but a whole smoking armada.
What I hope is the alternative media will start dissecting this event so that the real truth emerges. Then, we will have Congress move towards sanctions. Maybe we will have a President step out of office directly into prison.

Sean Hannity mentioned to Newt,today, the ransom for hostage situation. There is a video of the hostage talking about the holdup in the airplane waiting for the cash plane to land. It is on Drudge today with an interview with one of those on the plane. This issue is exploding.

This incident illustrates the criminal nature of the Obama Regime and it will be even worse if Hillary is elected. No, some laws were most likely broken in this one and that is what people need to focus on.
The Obama Administration has a habit of not following the rules/laws. Look at what tripped up the President on his stopping of deportation. Look what tripped up ObamaCare. Obama doesn't follow the rules (just like Hillary) and sometimes that will come back to bite a person in their butt.
I hope that the Big Zero spends a horrible last few months dodging testimony in court cases.
I understand... on top of the gross payment, there is various procedural law, I’d sure like to know even what “fig leaves” were invoked for this purpose, what was even pretended to be legal.
Problem is, virtually nobody is caring what procedural law is now. It seems to dissolve with an EO from Big Ears in most cases, with a few sacrifices to courts when he wants to let it happen. Obamacare would have died if we cared about procedural law — it was a Frankenstein monster without key organs and should not have been able to live.
At any rate this is why Trump has gotten as popular as he has, even though he isn’t always the nicest orator in the world. He is promising “No more Calvinball.”
