The Supreme Court its no secret is at stake in the 2016 election. But legal experts say the impact will be far more sweeping if Hillary Clinton wins in the fall, and is able to fill the seat of the late Justice Antonin Scalia with a left-leaning judge.
That point was only underscored at last weeks Democratic convention, where the Democratic presidential nominee pushed for changes on everything from campaign finance to gun rights, at times citing the courts role.
Heres a closer look at whats at stake, with many of these issues likely to come before the next court:

OTOH. It could be the SECOND “shot heard ‘round the world.” I’m sensing that this country is ready for another civil war. Clintoon’s “election” will be the cause. It’s a damn shame if it happens over this b*tch.
Often now, when I am out and about, people are sullen or angry or panicked. Strikes me as odd, but there it is.
“....people are sullen or angry or panicked...”
They ought to try hangin’ out in Mogadishu for the weekend. Or chitcago. :)
Yup! Those of us with our eyes open and focused can see it.
If we lose this, it’s game over for much of our platform. She’ll replace Scalia, Ginsburg, probably Breyer. Who knows how much longer Kennedy has?
Anytime the libs don’t like something we do, they’ll challenge it and their goons on the bench will undo our work. Abortions, gays, trannies, executive orders on a variety of topics - their judges will do the Democrat bidding. If they don’t like a Congressional district map or a voter ID law, it’s undone.
This is make or break for us. I have stubborn NeverTrump relatives who can’t get this through their thick skulls. Trump is far from perfect, but from the list of judges he put out a while ago - along with Pence advising him - he’s well worth the vote.
Some people have brought up the fact that they wont vote if the eventual nominee is not the person they wanted, so I just want to put something in perspective.
Justice Scalias seat is vacant.
Ginsberg is 82 years old
Kennedy is 79
Breyer is 77
Thomas is 67.
Nowadays, the data shows that the average age of a Supreme Court retirement or death occurs after 75.
These are 5 vacancies that will likely come up over the next 4-8 years. The next President will have the power to potentially create a 7-2 Supreme Court skewed in their ideology.
Think about that... 7-2.
If the next President appoints 5 young justices, it will**** guarantee control of the Supreme Court for an entire generation. And 7-2 decisions will hold up much more over time than 5-4 decisions which are viewed as lacking in mandate.
Hillary has made it clear she will use the Supreme Court to go after the 2nd Amendment. She has literally said that the Supreme Court was wrong in its Heller decision stating that the Court should overturn and remove the individual right to keep and bear arms. Period.
Anyone and Everyone who is saying that they wont vote for one candidate or the other if they are the GOP nominee, please realize this. Hear this! If Hillary Clinton wins and gets to make these appointments, you likely will never see another conservative victory at the Supreme Court level for the rest of your life. Ever.
Whoever is the GOP nominee ... go VOTE for the GOP Nominee!
Remember Romney? Three million conservatives who had voted for McCain did not cast a vote for Romney for whatever reason (Ah aint votin for no dayum Mormon) .... and the result was four additional years of Obama.
AND ONE FINAL THOUGHT, shes already on the record as saying that her buddy, Obama would make a great Supreme Court Justice.
And when her new justices okay illegals to become legals and vote, the Dems will get the presidency from now on. And they will continue to appoint ALL federal judges. This election is literally, game set and match for the republic. If Hillary wins, the USA, as we know it, is gone.
