Rep. Tim Huelskamp has been a thorn in the side of the Republican establishment since his election to Congress amid the tea party wave of 2010, and his clashes with former House Speaker John Boehner and other GOP leaders helped get him booted from the House Agriculture Committee.
That proved costly for the third-term congressman on Tuesday, as he lost the GOP nomination to continue representing Kansas' largely rural 1st District to Roger Marshall, a political newcomer who had the backing of powerful farming and business groups.

Boehner tips his hat and his drink celebrating the booting of the anti-Establishment and anti-Open Borders avowed enemy, Tim Huelskamp!
He served his purpose. If he was so committed to fighting open borders and the establishment he should’ve extolled those virtues in Trump instead of taking the holier-than-thou route and trying to kneecap him. Everyone who spits on Trump is looked at as establishment, fair or not.
He screwed up by attacking Trump and not explaining what sort of opposition to Trump he was planning.
Just a note that the machine is strong .... Never underestimate the strength and cunning of the enemy both without and within.
Marshall: “I will support the president and work with him to get things done.”
Huelskamp: “One thing to know about Tim Huelskamp is I have conservative principles, and I’m going to stand on those conservative principles. If you don’t have conservative principles, I will work against you.”

Good thing generic Mike Pence was picked as Trump’s VP.
Imagine Cruz or similar answering the Nevada troll woman; “Well let me tell you something lady... with my conservative fibers & my conservative principles...”

Anyone who refers to themselves in the third person (”One thing to know about Tim Huelscamp ... “) should be immediately disregarded. Just ask Bob Dole.
Yeah, so elect a guy who describes himself as a “conservative who can reach across the aisle.” This clown would not have only voted for “Ryno,” he wouldn’t have opposed Boehner. That will teach those conservatives that don’t worship at the Trump altar.
It appears this “Tea Party” guy voted for Paul Ryan as Speaker, while others did not.
I can’t say this guy is “clean.”
In a year, there won’t be a single conservative left in the Republican Party.
