If nothing else, Trump's unusual campaign appears to have normalized the once-maligned notion of the government applying a religious test. Millions of Americans are now intrigued by the idea, which has largely been debated without any detailed effort to reckon with its implementation or cost.
According to the officials who handle U.S. immigration and security, however, the most practical problem with Trump's plan is not about social controversy or discrimination.
It's about governing — and whether a plan that may cripple the immigration system could actually be implemented.
It is a major question in this year's politics, a field long known as the "art of the possible."

Any time there is an issue near and dear to the libs and media. they roll out the “experts” without ever telling us what makes them “experts”.
That would be fine if we needed people-but until we get everything sorted out, the EBT cards and any other freebies stopped, the illegals, criminals and potential terrorists send back where they came from-and most importantly-making sure that US citizens get hired before anyone else-we just plain can’t afford to be the world’s daddy-the government has spent all of OUR money, many of us don’t have much work or any money to give-we need to think of ourselves first and tell everyone else to keep your tired, your poor, your huddled masses, etc...
And yes-my ancestors were immigrants-from Spain to Mexico in the 16th century-then to what is *now* Texas and NM-over 200 years ago, before it was part of the US...
