Mike Pence shows how it’s done in response to a question about Trump and the Khan family

During a town hall meeting in Nevada, Mike Pence was challenged on his support for Donald Trump despite Trump’s comments over the weekend criticizing a gold star family. Pence handled the situation well, first calming the crowd and then offering his respect to the person asking the question and then to the Khan family.

“You have a son in the military, how do you tolerate his disrespect?” the woman asked, referring to Trump’s comments over the weekend criticizing Khan’s family. Before she even finished her question the crowd began to boo. Pence waved for them to settle down. “It’s all right,” Pence said adding, “Folks, that’s what freedom looks like and that’s what freedom sounds like.” This brought a round of applause.

Pence turned back toward the woman, who had taken her seat, and said, “Let me just say first I want to honor your son’s service to the country and your family’s service to the country. I truly do.” This brought another round of applause.

“I know this has been much in the news of late, in the last few days, but as I said last night as Donald Trump said Saturday night, Captain Khan is an American hero and we honor him and honor his family as we do all gold star families in this country,” Pence said.

Pence then went beyond the talking points by adding some detail. “The story of Captain Khan is an incredibly inspiring story. June 8th, 2004 he would fall in Iraq…an explosive device in a taxi,” Pence said. He continued,”He was awarded medals, posthumously, because like any great leader he…the accounts of that were that Captain Khan moved people out of the way, told them stay back and he went toward the danger.” “Honestly, again, Captain Khan is an American hero,” Pence

Sometimes you win by fighting when no others had the guts to fight.

But I would not expect a Republican to know or understand this.

Khan is a mouthpiece of Hillary. He launched an unwarranted attack on Donald’s character and his policies. Donald had to respond; there was no other option.

Now Khan has retreated and says he was sorry and doesn’t want to be involved any longer. Why? Because the truth has come out about him and he’s running scared. Millions and millions of social media participants have picked up on this and are still out spreading the word about Khan. The Trump movement is making Khan feel the heat. Khan knows he’s in trouble.

This is why Trump is known as a fighter, this is why Trump is winning and will win.

‘Trump’s remarks about why Khan’s mother wasn’t being allowed to speak’

What did Trump say about WHY the mother wasn’t allowed to speak???

And this time, let’s have the actual quote. Thank you.

There is no Khan story. Trump said nothing. This is just another distraction. Maybe to take away from the emails? The Assange interview? Or maybe, the fact that the bitch got zero bounce from the convention?

But, that said, I cant believe the people on FR who are running to the Kahn’s defense. Really. This muslim POS takes the stage at the convention. Rants about our candidate. And then some of us take his side.

You know who you are and you should be ashamed of yourself!!

This is a sad post, actually.

I want Trump to win, and that means not having Trump shoot himself in the foot.

No, it looks like Republicans are in a dumpster fire of their own cowardice that hey lit themselves.

You don’t win a fight by not fighting.

You are the one who has fallen for bait.

How do you make Republicans turn on their own candidate?

Sneak up behind them and say “Boo”.

The spin that this whole thing is part of Trump’s strategy of flushing out Muslim extremists, and that it’s working brilliantly in this case for such and such reason.

I hope that Trump’s campaign doesn’t exist in the same sort of “Trump can do wrong” bubble that we see in this thread. Trump needs some tough love right now.

Trump is doing just fine. Just because your son died in a war supported by Hillary, you don’t have the right to trash a political candidate who opposed the war. His anger is wrongly directed.

Kahn is not worth this fight, especially when their is nothing to gain. Sometimes you save your ammo for important targets.

Trump has already won the confrontation.

The only people that think otherwise are people that are in the minority who listen to the dinosaur media. They are slow to say the least.

‘The crowds at Trump rallies will get much bigger after labor day as the election gets closer.’

He’s filling the biggest venues he can find, and turning people away in droves. I guess he could start renting football stadiums?

This is not unexpected and I expect it to get worse as the campaign goes on. Expect out right blithering, foaming at the mouth idiocy from the Democrat media especially if Trump stays ahead or is close.

Trump just needs to keep punching Hillary and obama daily and use the headlines of the day, every terrorist attack, every bad economic report, every Republican sellout to the globalists, just keep hitting and ignore the side shows. And Manafort needs to keep Trump off of the Democrat media shows where you know it is a total setup. The media can’t help but cover Trump and use alternative media and keep the hammer down on the Hag and obama.

“Trump can do wrong”

Of course he can. He just does less wrong than McCain, Romney and Cruz, to name a few.

Does anyone care that he attacked Trump during his speech?

Trump is going to be attacked by anyone and everyone. It will only get worse if he chooses to counter punch everyone that attacks him. They are doing it to bait him into exactly that kind of campaign. If he doesn't stay on message and focus singularly on Hillary, his polls will plummet. Trump needs discipline right now more than anything else.

There was nothing stupid about asking why the mother wasn’t allowed to speak. Women everywhere were asking the same question.

Trump said nothing stupid. Only those who are slow to take could someone like Khan, an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood, be seen as having an effect on Trump.

Trump won the confrontation. Khan is in hiding and knows he’s in trouble.

He brought up the mother and engaged the father. He should have honored the son’s service and put the blame on Hillary Clinton for her votes and bad diplomacy.
