"I see absolutely no value to a judge... studying the Constitution, the history of its enactment, its amendments, and its implementation. Eighteenth-century guys, however smart, could not foresee the culture, technology, etc., of the 21stcentury. Which means that the original Constitution, the Bill of Rights... do not speak to today."
This erosion of loyalty to the Constitution -- by large sectors of the populace and those charged with protecting and preserving it -- is both foolish and dangerous. Let us not forget that the "feelings" of white Southerners would have been protected with restrictions on Dr. King's speech. Fortunately, King knew that the ideas embodied in the Constitution did speak to him and his time, just a they speak still to us and our time:

We are in what I call a “silent second civil war” right now or a cold one.
[We e are in what I call a silent second civil war right now or a cold one.]
We are in a spiritual battle against good and evil.
Without adherence to the US Constitution, we are no longer the UNITED States of America.
We are subject to the whims of the voting majority now.
That too. There are two wars, one visable and one invisable.
Good and evil. Exactly. As John Adams said, “only a righteous people”. We have lost any shame. We cannot continue to allow perverts, Marxists or whatever to call themselves Americans. We cannot continue to tolerate the steady erosion of virtue while embracing vice. We cannot continue to legislate conditions that destroy family. Harsh but there it is. The perverts, the Marxists, the moose limbs, they all gotta go.

Used to be, the glory of freedom was self-evident. We had plenty of examples of totalitarianism for contrast. Who knew it would only take two generations after the fall of the Berlin Wall for everyone to forget freedom. McCarthy was right. Communism burrowed it’s way into the fabric of our society, and we did not do enough to root it out.
The IRS has manacled them.
In France, a couple of priests have had their throats slit by peaceful Muslims.
ISIS has said they are going to bring the fight to America. When they slit a few preachers throats here, the "CHURCH will wake up.
I consider it an honorable thing to be called a McCarthy-ite. If something ‘smacks’ of McCarthyism, good. :)
I fear there is no greater danger to life and liberty than to not value it! I grieve for those who have no anchor, no faith, no knowledge they are “fearfully and wonderfully made”! People with little or no desire to understand how and why our rights can only be inalienable if they are given by power much greater than ourselves (God). The results of this ignorance and the creed of there’s nothing greater than one’s self... seem to bear the “fruit” of apathy, aimlessness, depression and a passive acceptance of increasing tyranny.
