Around 50,000 supporters of Turkey’s Islamist president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have rallied in Cologne, Germany to demand his authoritarian reign continues.
The Islamist crowd chanted “Allah hu Akbar!” and held signs reading, “Erdoğan is a human rights activist”, whilst opponents waved banners insisting “Stop the Erdomania!”
Members of the Turkish-nationalist, fascist-leaning “Grey Wolves” group were among the crowd that gathered on banks of the Rhine River with the city’s huge gothic cathedral in the background.
The German Federal Constitutional Court banned the live broadcasting of Mr. Erdogan’s speech at the rally, Deutsche Welle reports.
Some Germans reacted furiously to the huge Islamist rally in the country’s fourth largest city, and groups ranging from far-left “anti-fascists”, neo-Nazis and Kurdish separatists held counter-demonstrations.
One angry Cologne resident was caught on video insulting the supporters of political Islam, calling them “crazy” and “fascists”.
The security presence at the rally was heavy, with snipers spotted on a rooftop nearby, and bullet-proof cars on standby to evacuate speakers.
However, police insisted all would remain calm. Police Commissioner Jürgen Mathies said: “The police here in Cologne are well prepared.
“I am confident that Cologne will experience a peaceful day, however, I should be quite clear. We will immediately and consistently intervene, if any hint of violence is evident.”
Just weeks ago, on July 15th, the Turkish president survived a coup attempt organised by secular generals in the army who accused him of interfering with the democratic process and Islamising the country.
Mr. Erdoğan has used the aftermath to consolidate his power by arresting and detaining more than 15,000 people and shutting down dozens of media organisations, including 45 newspapers and 16 television stations. Tens of thousands of journalists, university professors, public servants and police members have also been suspended.

We know that’s how Islam works. Any father would do the same, and that’s why they are slowly pulling out of the area. The German government is of no help & the police in Cologne lied about all the sexual attacks & covered them up. Cologne has changed for the worst....I could see it on my last visit over there & that was 5 yeas ago ! It’s much worse now.
More like "unemployable" I'd imagine. What are these guys s'posed to do? They can't speak the language. Their "religion" sez they hafta kill the infidels that would be hiring them. Do they even get any "formal" education?
If they make it that far, Germany's next election should be very popcorn-worthy.

I find this so sad——but worst of all is that Germany JUST LET IT HAPPEN.

Cologne is ruined...and thanks, the family, fortunately, has the resources to relocate & can run the business anywhere. My uncle, who runs the company, is still not too keen on just leaving, but the government is making it impossible for him to confidently invest his capital over there.
It’s mind-boggling how fast the whole city has taken on a sinister feel. It used to be so clean & ordered, now parts of it look wrecked.
Yes many czechs around Hallettsville area...Praha and so many beautiful churches. Wish that this were not drowned out by the Islamic and border invasions...a once great state, now wallpapered with hostile foreigners...

Lots of banners, T-shirts, women’s smock/dresses and hats as well.
My belief is that a new alliance against world-wide Islamofascism will emerge among the USA, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Japan, India, possibly Russia, and maybe even China to some degree. The United Nations and world opinion be damned once Europe falls under Sharia Law and its culture and history is decimated by the Islamists. I may have the wrong nations involved in my scenario, but I believe it will happen.
It will definitely be time to go Dresdan and possibly Hiroshima on them, collateral damage be damned. It will be the only way to stop them once Europe is gone.
It’s very difficult over there to own any guns jmacusa. As far as I know no one I’m related to in Germany have any arms over there. And if you own a gun you are subjected to constant testing by the German government; who send people door-to-door & check to see if your gun is locked in a gun-safe. Sad situation.
(Never-ever underestimate the arrogance of Turks.)

BERLIN — The German Parliament overwhelmingly adopted a symbolic but fraught resolution on Thursday declaring the killings of Armenians by Ottoman Turks in 1915 a genocide, escalating tensions with Turkey at a diplomatically delicate juncture.
The Turkish government angrily denounced the vote as “null and void,” and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called his ambassador in Germany back to Ankara for consultations.
