...Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who ran against Mr. Trump for the Republican nomination, tweeted, “There’s only one way to talk about Gold Star parents: with honor and respect. Capt. Khan is a hero. Together, we should pray for his family.”
But Sen. Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.), a Trump supporter, defended the Republican nominee on “State of the Union,” saying Mr. Trump hadn’t spoken inappropriately. “His interview was not unkind, it was respectful, it did express condolences to the family for their loss,” Mr. Sessions said.
Mrs. Clinton took a low-key approach Sunday in responding to criticism from Pat Smith, the mother of an American killed in the 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, while Mrs. Clinton was Secretary of State, who’d said at the Republican convention, “I blame Hillary Clinton personally for the death of my son.”
Mrs. Clinton responded on Fox News Sunday, “I understand the grief and the incredible sense of loss,” adding that she had no “ill feeling” toward Ms. Smith.

My guess is the media isn't interested in asking that question. The media loses either way: if the guy DID hate the Islamic hordes, Trump is proven right. If he didn't hate the Islamic hordes, Trump is proven right.

If as Muslims claim that their religion is a religion of PEACE, then why not establish a HOTLINE for Muslims to report on terrorist activities within their communities !
Trump should double-down on this. The father’s politics are only a small part of the problem. The more serious issue is that the Democrats, trying to send a message that Islam is not a problem, allowed the father to politicize the death of his son, who died an honorable death. Gold star parents do NOT have a right to politicize their kids’ deaths without rebuttal.
Kasich sees how far their anti-Trump positions have gotten Ted Cruz and Jeb! and desperately desires to follow in their footsteps.

The local Los Angeles CBS News just covered the Story including Hillary dissing Trump.
They didn’t mention Hillary calling one the Mothers of her Benghazi Victims a Liar though.

to really show how wonderful the parents are and so mostest betterest than Trump, Hillary would have trotted some of those soldiers out to “testify” but there wasn’t one on the stage...

John Kasich is not a veteran. While that doesn’t mean he can’t understand or speak knowledgeably, it does mean he hasn’t been there and done that.
Those who are know that our military runs the range from excellent to average to dirt bag.
Personally, I object to everyone being called a hero. I think “above and beyond” actually means something. I think average is just fine, and I think only the unobservant fail to notice the extraordinary and fail to separate it from the common. That’s why they award medals with V devices.
If Khan thinks islam is peaceful, then he, too, fails to observe reality. Just because his son fought does not make his opinion valid. One just might want to notice those pacifists were trying to kill his son.
