As good a reason as any.
“Well its big, and terrible. More frightening than I ever thought possible.”

Thermobaric - possibly. However, the Russians are using a new type of large artillery shell against the Ukrainian Army that not only explodes the shell into fragments but also blowtorches anyone in its blast radius. Saw some photos of the killed Ukrainian Army soldiers who took apparently direct/near direct hits.
They looked like toast.
Meanwhile we send our allies John Kerry, a dud.
Fougade is related to fougueux. Fougueux can be variously translated as fiery, spirited, impetuous, mettlesome, or mettled depending on its context. This would make sense in linking the word to a land mine.
I would not be surprised to find a linguistic connection to the word fugue as it is used in music and psychiatry.
I can't drink for medical reasons so you can split my drinks with Slings and Arrows.
See if you can reason with Hurricane season

I think we’re talking about the same root word here, whatever the exact spellings might be, with a reasonable connection of the meaning to a land mine, or even to a test bread to see how fiery an oven is.
I’ll have a snort on your behalf.
Oh wait that is exactly what the brilliant minds that run our government are already doing.
His name is Hussein, his job is to flood the west with peaceful Muslims.
So the effect is similar to a neutron bomb? The buildings can remain standing?
The overpressure knocking down interior walls and scattering paper etc would add a lot of extremely flammable fuel to continue the fire from the flash ignition. Enough to get the wood burning, and then it’s just a conventional fire over a city block. Truck placement seems to have been on a major street with multi-story mall/shops on both sides. “Upscale” to target the Shia elites.
True, just what I was eluding to. If exterior walls, cars, brick, dirt etc were burning then a flammable napalm or foogass type device was used versus a fuel air based over pressure blast that would damage yet all fires would be secondary such as you describe.
bkmk
Better just print out the entire thread . Because the information is only good for as long as those links are active
What is to stop ISIS from constructing such bombs here?
That would be the TOSS 1A system and is themobaric - launches 10-15 tubes.
Thermobaric sucks all the air out and then returns it with a fuel mix that is ignited crisping all in range. Buildings will stand if they are explosion and fire proof.
Think of an arty flame thrower.
Thanks. Now why can’t I learn to explain anything so succinctly? :-)
Maybe. Or maybe they've come up with an explosive/incendiary, an overgrown version of the WWII SAS *Lewes Bomb* that both ruptured the fuel lines and tanks of parked German aircraft and ignited them. Used 808 P.E, thermite and lube oil as a binder as I recall. The previous SAS aircraft demo charge was about shoebox-sized and weighed about twelve pounds; Jock Lewes' improved bomb named for its daddy was about the size of a tennisball and weighed about four pounds; one four-man jeep crew could carry enough of the things to spoil an entire front-line airbase worth of near-irreplaceable aircraft.
It's fairly common to add aluminum powder to an explosive mix to get a thermobaric result; the jihadis may have decided to add in some oxidizer as well to get a longer-duration thermal ignition result as well. Ah, where's Gerry Hurst when you want to talk to him....
That would be against the law. Besides, theirs is a Religion of Peace.
