PHILADELPHIA Hillary Clinton will cast an optimistic outlook on the nation's present and future when she accepts the Democratic nomination for president Thursday and becomes the first woman to lead her party into the fall.
The speech will offer a contrasting vision to the one given by Donald Trump last week on issues ranging from the economy to national security.
"America is once again at a moment of reckoning," she is expected to say at the Democratic National Convention. "Powerful forces are threatening to pull out apart. Bonds of trust and respect are fraying. And just as with our founders there are no guarantees."
"We are clear-eyed about what our country is up against," she will say. "But we are not afraid. We will rise to the challenge, just as we always have.
Clinton will specifically seize on comments Trump made last week when he said, he alone could help fix the nation's woes.
"None of us can do it alone," she will say. "That's why we are stronger together."
In her address, Clinton will set how to explain how she plans to "empower all Americans to live better lives."
The speech aims to stitch together the themes from the first three nights of the convention, from the economy to gun control and national security.
All week, the conventions speakers sought to portray Clinton as a tested, steady and qualified candidate who will be a fighter for the working class and the polar opposite of Trump, whom Democrats view as a divisive, polarizing and dangerous figure who would reverse the policies President Obama put in place over the last eight years.
"My primary mission as president will be to create more opportunity and more good jobs with rising wages right here in the United States. From my first day in office to my last," she will say, according to the remarks.
Especially in places that for too long have been left out and left behind. From our inner cities to our small towns, Indian Country to Coal Country. From the industrial Midwest to the Mississippi Delta to the Rio Grande Valley.
Part of the speech focuses on the recent terror attacks, including in Orlando and the string of attacks in France. Clinton seeks to telegraph that she would be a steady hand in dealing with the rise of threats by groups like Islamic State.
"The choice we face is just as stark when it comes to our national security. Anyone reading the news can see the threats and turbulence we face. From Baghdad and Kabul, to Nice and Paris and Brussels, to San Bernardino and Orlando, we're dealing with determined enemies that must be defeated," Clinton is expected to say.
"No wonder people are anxious and looking for reassurance looking for steady leadership."

I think I've heard that theme before.
She plagiarized it from Satan.
My bet is that she will be projected on the BLUE SCREENS they have been using so far.
Is she a change agent or a continuation of the status quo? The dems need to get their story straight. :-)
C’mon coughing fit! Do it! Do it! Do it!
Also, I don’t get it. Obama was elected to fix everything. Should there even be an election? All of our problems are solved thanks to Obama, right?
Krauthammer puts it well on why Hillary is running

Does that mean she is going to say she is stepping down as the Democrap nominee?
Old Thunder Thighs already has a couple of wives of murdered cops to say how great she is. No way in the world a cop’s wife would have been anywhere near the DNC but not for the backlash of ignoring law enforcement for the first three days.
THERE YA GO! Trump should pick up on that one! “Campaigning against the impeached Presidents wife”. Good one I think.
Sounds like the fake journalist who scribbled this tripe is in the tank for Hitlery.
The MSM tonight will be as predictable as the night is long when they’ll gush with affection for Cankle’s speech. Be prepared for these idiots to call her speech a gamechanger, one for the ages, and all the other usual slop we get from these people.
No doubt about it.
You got that right. The media is a bunch of slobbering liars.
You owe me a beer! I just spit mine out LMAO!
I decided to watch car porn on Velocity rather than listen to the Hildebeast screech.
