Conservatives, he argued, must take this lesson to heart and learn to present their views using effective storytelling if they are to have any chance of turning America around and pointed to the Christian film "God's Not Dead" as a perfect example of how not to do that and, as a consequence, why conservatives keep losing.
"I know a lot of people liked 'God's Not Dead,'" Beck said. "I didn't. I don't think I've ever said this on the air. I walked out of it."
Beck said ... could stand it because it was so poorly done and one-sided and that they walked out after 40 minutes.
"It might feel good to have a movie come out where we get to slap people across the face," he said," but that's not helpful."

Lol....You said better in two words what I said in about 200.
“Becks nuts.”
Snack food?
Was he wearing his Christmas sweater?
I agree. I've seen a few that start out well enough, then out of the blue one of the characters remarks about having accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
I think it would make better sense to create good stories containing admirable characters who just happen to be Christian. These would at least displace some of the Hollywood crap with the mean, crazy, busybody Christian characters.
I love how RightWingWatch has a banner decrying the conservative horrors awaiting us under a possible Trump Presidency. If only he were as conservative as they fear!
BTW, I am supporting Trump...just acknowledging the fact that many around here wish he were a tad more right wing.
What about them?
I agree- well acted (at times)- it WAS MADE FOR CHRISTIANS-
the story tells of people loosing hope, faith, family, and finally
LIFE itself- maybe Glen did not like it because-
No lesbian kissing?
A muslim girl turning to Christ?
No that’s not it- let’s see.. the Smartest man in the room-
(the atheist professor-played by Kevin Sorbo) is brought down by
a first year Undergraduate-
OH I GET IT!!- Beck identified with the Sorbo character!
and that character HAD EVERYTHING WRONG about God and Life!
LOL
Well he would....
the movie is about the Christian God and Christianity...
Beck is a Mormon and does not believe in the LORD Jesus Christ or the words in the Christian Bible..
Are in Hillary's lockbox.
yep
Why do people even care about Beck anymore?
Wasn’t that a movie based on fact?
Chariots of Fire
His Mormonism teaches him he can do good works to get into heaven.....tithe tithe tithe
Who ever said he is?
Mormanism and Christianity are not the same.
Hate to break it to him but God is one sided. You’re either with Him or you’re not.
And he can pull his wife into heaven if he wants to.
And oh so many more
God is everywhere.
One of the most spiritual moments I’ve seen on television lately was the finale of the hard “R” rated Showtime series “Penny Dreadful”.
After going through unimaginable trials and committing (what she thought were) unforgivable sins, the main character, Vanessa, regained her faith just before making the ultimate sacrifice.
To hear the Lord’s Prayer recited in its entirety on this type of show was jarring, to say the least.
Good stuff.
In a strange way, I felt the same about the movie “The Ice Storm”. It was more of a commentary on what life looks like without God: selfish, hedonistic, empty.
The final scene in which Kevin Kline looks at his wife and kids in the car and begins to sob ...as though he is finally understanding what is important.
