And yet, it seems we didn’t learn a damned thing.
The predominance of Jewish people in the US are Democrats, a party that embraces those who will destroy Israel; a sitting US President that models his arrogance after the fascist Benito Mussolini coupled with the lies and treacheries of Stalin; and a prospective ‘heir’ to the Obama throne who would be the female version of Adolf Hitler.
Only Tojo is missing....
Odd account in the excerpt.
As if Russia had not been involved in the war prior to the German invasion.
Almost as if the author is trying to hide the fact that as Hitler was invading Poland from the west in 1939, his ally Stalin was invading it from the east
How about the Soviet invasion of Finland?
The Japanese invasion of Korea and northern China?
Nonsense.
So many veterans have died trying to catch Guantanamo bay prisoners...their release infuriates me
WW II in many ways is the beginning of the end of Western Christian civilization.
The Just War Theory and the attempt to prevent and eliminate civilian casualties was a hallmark of Christian West.
WW II brought, for all intents and purposes, an end to that ideal of Western Civilization. Now even with precision weapons that can send a bomb through a specific window and in to a building before blowing up civilian casualties are considered acceptable.
Christianity and Christian Charity are considered archaic principles and even the word Christian is now offensive. Besides ending the lives of 65 million people WW II ended Christian Era.
The war quickly became global. Canada, Australia and New Zealand declared war on Germany on September 3, 1939, and South Africa three days later. As has been mentioned, the Soviet Union entered the war on the side of Germany before the month was out. When Italy joined the war in 1940, the war spread to Africa as British and Italian troops clashed in Egypt, Somalia and Ethiopia, the British attacked the French at Mers el-Kebir in Algeria, and the Free French fought the Vichy French in Senegal.
The naval war was also global, as German submarines and raiders roamed the seven seas. Before the year was out, the Battle of the Rio de la Plata would take place off the coast of Uruguay, resulting in the loss of a German battleship.
It’s a good thing it happened 75 years ago. With all the pc liberal crap that has taken over in this country we would never win it today.
>>In truth, after the rapid German defeat of Poland in September 1939, the conflict was mostly confined to Western Europe for nearly the next two years.
The Chinese would be surprised to hear this, as they had been at war with Japan since 1937.
His point is probably still valid, but this was a large ongoing conflict that expanded greatly starting on December 7, 1941.
All the way to the coast of Texas. German U-boats were patroling the whole Gulf of Mexico. My father said there were ships sunk off the coast of Galeston.
Everyone knows it was the evil United States that started WW2 then used atomic weapons on the poor Japanese and called them bad names.
