When David Duke announced in the Louisiana last week that he would be running for Senate, GOP Chairman Reince Priebus swiftly sent out a tweet assuring America that the former Ku Klux Klan grand wizards hateful bigotry [has] no place in the Republican Party; the RNC will never support his candidacy under any circumstance.

Morons.
No comparison.
Duke never won and will never win.
So what is this dope saying, that Trump is as bad as David Duke? Why didn’t a story like this come out when Romney won? Something like, if religious cultist David Koresh won, would we have to vote for him? If not, then why do we have to vote for Mormon Romney?
Well, this is a new low. Comparing Trump to a KKK guy? Seriously?
Since ‘96, we’ve been told to maintain party unity when they put their RNC hack in. Well, now it is their turn.
It sucks, doesn’t it.
Have to? Last time I checked, this is still America so I can vote or not vote as I please.
But David Duke never won.
Someone tell this guy to if in one hand and hsit in the other and see which one fills up first.
What moral person would vote for Hillary?
So let's ask THIS question instead..... Did David Duke just win the majority of delegates in a 50-state primary/caucus to secure the nomination, based on the vote of the electorate, or did he just announce that he's running for Senate with no vetting via a primary system?
Right, there's no comparison between the two.
Duke will never win...unless he runs as a Democrat. Then he can join the likes of Srtrom Thurmond and George Wallace. Both Democrats.
This is so extreme that its silly. Its like saying if some corrupt, incompetent, paranoid, extremist witch won the Dem primary, would we have to vote for her for president? Oh, wait . . . . .
Only if they signed a pledge to support him.
David Harsanyi comparing David Duke to Trump means you are a demented piece of crap - go away moron, just go away.
Do you think the GOP will be asking for loyalty pledges from David Duke in order to secure party assets? I don’t.
Finally, someone who is dumber than Jeb Bush.
I didn’t think that was possible.
If DD wins, that would be one special opponent.
What if, what if, what if someone dipped you in sh*t and shoved a bouquet of roses up your posterior, David. Would you then consider yourself to be a garden?
Neither party “runs” candidates in Louisiana. They have what is called “a jungle primary.” Anybody who wants runs, and can say they’re a member of whichever party they want. If nobody gets a majority on the first ballot, there is a run-off with the top two regardless of party advancing.
Through 1988, David Duke was run under the Democrat Party label for several offices within Louisiana and under the Populist Party label for President.
In 1989, he became our switched parties, and the Democrats handed the tar baby of David Duke to us. Duke ran under the Republican Party label for State Rep, finished among the top two and won the run-off. His opponent in the run-off was another Republican. I believe this was the only time Duke ever won an election for anything.
He then ran for U.S. Senator (and didn’t make the run-off), and for Governor (and did make the run-off). In the run-off, he was opposed by a former Democratic Governor, fresh out of jail for corruption, and many Republicans joined with the Democrats to support him. Once, when asked about his cruising the campus of Louisiana State to pick up co-eds, he retorted, you’d prefer I was picking up boys? The Democrat won, but again landed in the hoosegow.
Duke continued to be a perennial candidate through 1999, as running for office was a big money maker for him. He developed a mailing list of suckers, I mean clients, who sent him money so he could embarrass himself in public again and again and again. I guess people must have figured as long as somebody as idiotic as David Duke is kept before the public, nobody would think being white represented any kind of privilege.
But, unfortunately, all good things eventually come to end, and from 2000 to 2015, David Duke didn’t run for anything. WIthout the distraction he used to provide, America got sucked into endless no-win wars, entered a period of economic retrogression, and suffered terrible violence and racial tensions. Oh, and the Yankees fell apart.
But, don’t give up hope America, David Duke is back running for office.
Only Republicans did not vote for Duke to make him a U.S. Senator for over 50 years!
