Ted Cruz Favorability Rating Collapse Confirmed in National and Ohio Post-RNC Convention Polls
Gateway Pundit ^ | 07/26/2016 | Kristinn Taylor

Ted Cruz’s failure to endorse rival Donald Trump for president at last week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio has apparently caused his favorability rating among GOP voters to collapse, according to a national survey and an Ohio poll.

An NBC News/Survey Monkey nationwide poll released Tuesday and a PPP survey of Ohio Republicans released Monday confirms the shocking collapse in Cruz’ favorability rating among Republican voters following the convention seen in a CNN/ORC poll released Monday.

CNN/ORC:

“Cruz’s move, however, appears to have backfired. While 60% of Republican voters had a positive impression of the former presidential candidate before the convention, just 33% have one now.”

NBC News/Survey Monkey:

“Ted Cruz, who scored a strong round of boos when he declined to endorse Trump in his speech to the RNC, was not viewed kindly by Republicans voters. Though Cruz finished second in the GOP primary race, just 28 percent of members of his own party now view him favorably; 68 percent now view him unfavorably. Clearly, his performance at the GOP convention was not received well by his party.”

PPP Ohio:

“The biggest loser from the convention is Ted Cruz though. He has an 18/65 favorability rating with Ohio voters, making him by far and away the least popular figure in our poll. Even among Republicans he’s at just 23/61. We asked GOP voters who they would support in a hypothetical primary contest between Trump and Cruz, and Trump wins out 61-19.”

“...most Texans are far TOO intelligent to have not awakened to just what and who Teddy REALLY is.”

It’s true. Support for the Cubanadian fraud has dropped like a rock in Texas.

Although he won his ‘home’ state in the primary, it was by the smallest margin in history for a Republican candidate, which proves that he didn’t have all that much support here, to begin with.

Senators aren’t impeached either. It’s a little simpler in that they can be expelled by a two-thirds Senate vote.

There’s no recall because, among other reasons, the Constitution envisaged appointment by state legislatures and no one wanted senators being replaced with every state election instead of serving six-year terms.

“I appreciate his refusal to be bullied by the GOP.”

And I still say he has done nothing but talk. It’s not hard to criticize people when you run no risk.

Any man who would allow himself to be cowed by Mitch McConnell should be sold into a brothel.

“he turned out to be retarded”

Not sure, but I believe there is a difference between “retarded” and the many personality disorders that have possessed him. Sad that so many disorders have taken up residence in one person.

Cruz earned few votes anyway, those were all non voter govt appointed points.

Cruz for Hillary!
Kasich for Hillary!
Gary Johnson for Hillary!

Trump is defeating maybe 20 opponents. Wow!

Two thirds, eh? That's a pretty high bar to reach, but I'll bet Mr. Texas Toast can do it. It's been said that he's the most hated man in the Senate.

“Ted can spend his left over campaign millions on rehabilitating his image”

I understand that Ivanka runs a charm school; maybe he can enroll for next semester.

It is not a matter of anyone being bullied.

Let's make this simple for some people to understand:

Ted Cruz swore a pledge... an oath, to support the Republican nominee.

Donald Trump was elected the Republican nominee.

Ted Cruz has REFUSED to honor that sworn pledge to support Donald Trump, the elected Republican nominee.

Therefore, Ted Cruz has shown that he is not a man of his word and cannot be trusted.

This is why millions of American voters view Ted Cruz unfavorably.

Cruz needs to seek psychological help.

“An evil tyrant who wants absolute power so she can crush freedom, or a man who unfairly and inappropriately insulted his wife.”

Trump insulted Melania? When was that? It was CRUZ who insulted Melania.

“I’ll never forget that speech Cruz gave at RNC. As you know it was vetted by The Donald’s team or The Donald himself prior .”

And, as we learned the following day, the speech that Trump approved was not the speech Cruz gave. He pulled the ol’ switcheroo, went rogue, and stabbed the majority in the back by giving a different speech. The man is a very dangerous person; glad he has no power.

Pretty much proof positive that we early Trump supporters were absolutely correct when we pointed out that Ted Cruz had close to a zero chance of winning the Presidency.

That Cruz had a better chance of winning the Presidency than Trump was one of the big arguments used here by early Ted Cruz supporters. It was also the main argument that the NeverTrumpers in the wild used, including the George Will’s, Bill Kristol’s, David French’s and Eric Erickson’s of the world, even though that was never the real reason they were opposed to Trump.

Can you imagine if the voters had actually bought that bullshit and nominated Ted Cruz instead of Donald Trump, and then we all sat here and watched Cruz go down in flames against the very worst candidate the Democrats have ever nominated in their history? It makes me shudder just to think about it.

It might not make any difference (pension wise) because I believe that he will be found quilty of fraud concerning his citizenship anyways. That will void the pension.

“I appreciate his refusal to be bullied by the GOP.”

You’re talking about the fortitude, honor, and trustworthiness Ted Cruz has displayed in refusing to honor his pledge to support the winning candidate, correct?
