Ted Cruzs failure to endorse rival Donald Trump for president at last weeks Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio has apparently caused his favorability rating among GOP voters to collapse, according to a national survey and an Ohio poll.
An NBC News/Survey Monkey nationwide poll released Tuesday and a PPP survey of Ohio Republicans released Monday confirms the shocking collapse in Cruz favorability rating among Republican voters following the convention seen in a CNN/ORC poll released Monday.
Cruzs move, however, appears to have backfired. While 60% of Republican voters had a positive impression of the former presidential candidate before the convention, just 33% have one now.
Ted Cruz, who scored a strong round of boos when he declined to endorse Trump in his speech to the RNC, was not viewed kindly by Republicans voters. Though Cruz finished second in the GOP primary race, just 28 percent of members of his own party now view him favorably; 68 percent now view him unfavorably. Clearly, his performance at the GOP convention was not received well by his party.
The biggest loser from the convention is Ted Cruz though. He has an 18/65 favorability rating with Ohio voters, making him by far and away the least popular figure in our poll. Even among Republicans hes at just 23/61. We asked GOP voters who they would support in a hypothetical primary contest between Trump and Cruz, and Trump wins out 61-19.
Notable is Jeff Sessions name is not among already purchased Cruz and Cornyn.
Thx, EF!
“One post in 2010 and one post in 2009.”
A common link with many of the zotted Zombie Trolls, who went years without posting.
Then, they came on like kamikazes for their true Conservative, lying Ted.
This is VERY suspicious; to say the least.
It's not?
Sessions is still a traitor though, listed in the fourth column of names, eighth row, of the table on page 4. (He is the (R-AL)
in the final column.)
You are correct; most Texans are far TOO intelligent to have not awakened to just what and who Teddy REALLY is. :-)
....do you even have a clue what you’re saying.......sheesh
This is one of a zotted poster's excess nics, which allows them to come back and post after being banned. This account needs banning too!
Nope...they’re brain dead !
It’s unusual for someone to leave for that long and not at least come back earlier in a presidential election process.
Very unusual.
Apparently? LOL! How about "definitively"?
LOL
But I'm from Massachusetts. :)
Bwahahahaha! I hope I don't forget this expression. It's perfect!!
“Recall him then...”
Read the Constitution. There’s no provision for recalling a U.S. Senator.
I suppose he could be impeached, but that’s not in the hands of the voters.
Trump cannot win - until he does.
He is flogging the GOPe like a rented mule.
It’s alright. Not all of us Texans are full of ourselves.
Thanks.
I also suspect that Trump believes that as president he will be able to fire and/or severely punish any bureaucrat that attempts to thwart his agenda. He will need to be able to do that if he is to effectively implement his policies.
No, he wasn’t bullied. He reneged on his promise to support when he signed the pledge. He was invited to speak at the Convention, speakers are traditionally there to support publicly the nominee. His career is ruined, he will be remembered as a liar. At the beginning I was in his camp, I bought the carefully orchestrated persona...soon my eyes opened to the reality of his character. GO TRUMP!
Well said.
