Woah Robert Mercer Excoriates Ted Cruz For His Non Endorsement Convention Speech
There were some who clung to the belief that Senator Ted Cruz could survive his belittling, too-cute-by-half, selfish convention speech. That group just lost a whole lot of members with this published story.
Robert Mercer, the renegade, outlaw (non traditional) political billionaire who determines where all other outlaw political billionaires go with their view$, has just delivered a non recoverable smack down upon Senator Ted Cruz.
Noted, of course, is the vessel (NYT) utilized by an angry Mercer to deliver the message and drive home the scope of his rebuke:
(Via New York Times) In an extraordinary public rebuke, two influential donors who were among the biggest supporters of Senator Ted Cruzs presidential campaign excoriated Mr. Cruz on Saturday for his decision not to endorse Donald J. Trump at the Republican National Convention.
The remarks from Robert Mercer of Long Island and his daughter Rebekah Mercer suggest widening fallout over Mr. Cruzs convention speech, in which he did not endorse his former rival and, instead, suggested that Republicans should vote your conscience for candidates up and down the ticket.
Last summer and again this year, Senator Ted Cruz pledged to support the candidacy of the nominee of the Republican Party, whomever that nominee might be, the Mercers, who rarely comment in the news media, said in the statement to The New York Times.
We are profoundly disappointed that on Wednesday night he chose to disregard this pledge. The Democratic Party will soon choose as their nominee a candidate who would repeal both the First and Second Amendments of the Bill of Rights, a nominee who would remake the Supreme Court in her own image. We need all hands on deck to ensure that Mr. Trump prevails.
Unfortunately, Senator Cruz has chosen to remain in his bunk below, a decision both regrettable and revealing. (read more)
This is HUGE . Remember, Mercer bought and built the entire Cambridge Analytics empire specifically for Ted Cruz. Then Mercer purchased Breitbart to assist the endeavor; then Mercer put $11 million into Cruz super-PACs.
Oh man, this is delicious.
Especially because Fox News is already going full moonbat.
Additionally, this could mean the following political Sea Island attendees are also forced, for sake of their own political reelection skin, to go Full Trump:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Kentucky), political guru Karl Rove, ? House Speaker Paul Ryan, GOP Senators Tom Cotton (Arkansas), Cory Gardner (Colorado), Tim Scott (South Carolina), Rob Portman (Ohio) and Ben Sasse (Nebraska).
HUGE !
WTF? How about limited to those who LOVE America? Who pledge to support and defend the Constitution. Who can establish a method and process of self-support. Those who can fulfill a NEED in the US.
I know lots of folks from the PI (most beautiful women in the world!), Vietnam, India and Africa that are so GRATEFUL to have been legally allowed into America. A country they cherish. A country they now call "My Country".
For some, a country their Grandparents, Parents and Children have proudly fought for, and sadly, have died defending.
Just like the rest of us, they too are now "American". With all the rights, privileges and responsibilities of Citizenship. Want to have a mind altering experience? Go to a TRUMP rally and talk with some folks who "look different"s. Don't insult them by asking "How long have you been in America"? They might surprise you and tell you that their Grandparents fought in WW2. They'll then ask you!
Wanna see what America could be again?
It's there right before your eyes.
And now for Kasich.......Perhaps this Mercer article and Trump’s idea to create a super pac to challenge him in his next election will motivate him to get on board.
Face it, even if Cruz had supported Trump his speech delivery was horrible.
I hate listening to the guy talk.
Agreed!
I don’t know why some Fr’s seem to mindlessly try to incorporate into new positions political people who were previously discussed to not be suitable for office anymore.
My thinking Patrick would like to be governor and Abbott would like to be a Senator. Either one would easily beat Cruz. I just hope it is not G. P. Bush that primaries Cruz.
This election has been very illuminating. All the masks are falling.
Has Cruz taken a big fall with his antics of late? I’m not there
now so don’t see local news nor talk to the people.
The establishment wanted to take Cruz out. They still want to take Mr. Trump out.
I hope he does not stray from his purpose and really knows who he can trust, because it is not many of the old guard GOPe establishment Republicans. They are hunkering down, but will be passive aggressive to thwart Trump’s policies and the building of the wall.
We still have two enemies, until their actions prove otherwise. Never their talk.
If we find out that Cruz has given money to Hillary to further her political career, so help me, I will denounce him in the strongest possible terms.
How could anyone support a candidate that gave money to Hillary Clinton?
Presumably, the DNC was doing oppo research on all the Republican candidates. Why aren't there any solicitations from Trump, Carson, Walker, Jeb, Rubio, Christie, etc.?
I am one of them. To me he is now PoliticallyDeadTED.
Gingrich’s speech that followed showed the huge difference what there is between a seasoned statesman and an immature power hungry politician which is what Ted is. That was the final nail in the coffin for Cruz so far as I am concerned.
Yes, he has fallen and will not recover. The last straw was when he did not honor his pledge and endorse Trump at the GOP convention. Evidently he must have communicated to team Trump he would endorse to get the prime time speaking slot he did. Trump held out the olive branch and Cruz bit his hand. Cruz was boobed off the stage and most of his big donors have said they are done with him. I think he will have a primary challenger in 2018 when if he decides to seek reelection to the US Senate.
I agree with that assessment.
Rob Portman was interviewed on Larry Kudlow's show yesterday and most of the time was spent talking about the bi-partisan Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act that Portman sponsored and Obama just signed into law.
Didn't hear any negative comments about Trump from Portman (although Kudlow didn't push him on it) who remains focused on beating ex-Gov Ted Strickland in the fall.
Gingrich’s clean-up tack at the convention was a thing of beauty.
‘Cruz was boobed off the stage’
Sounds about right.
+1
How a young, smooth talking, Canadian import could suddenly be fundamentally transformed into a Natural Born American Citizen(!) riding the Republican rails to the White House requires lots of emotion and even more $$$$.
But if you have lots of $$$$, then you can buy a few appropriately credentialed institutions and their ex-spurts, and also acquire enough of talk radio and other media to promote and ramp up the emotions, and then the rest will take care of itself.
It almost worked, too, but what is even more fascinating is that things have come apart so quickly.
A large part of me likes to see the way and speed that this episode in our Kabuki Theatre Political Show ended as yet another sign of the quickening (to borrow from Art Bell) events in the larger celestial picture.
From this perspective, I look for what is Heaven sent in our day to day world and wonder if it was young Ted's guardian angel(s) Heaven sent to help free him from the trap his ego got his soul caught in.
Young Felito Cruz and his ego were definitely caught up in something much larger than himself, and it was taking him down while he thought he was being lifted up.
But now, he is almost free from his folly, which I tend to see as a rescue and an example of God's healing Grace and Mercy.
Praise to the Most High God!
save for later.
Teddy is screwed, blued, and tattooed. No more money for reelection the senate.
