WHEREAS, it is the duty of our elected and appointed government officials to lead by example,
THEREFORE, we call upon the U.S. Department of State to remove air conditioning from all property that the Department owns, rents, or otherwise employs, including but not limited to embassies, consulates, office buildings, etc., all vehicles owned and/or operated by the Department, and any other property, real or movable, owned, rented, or otherwise employed by the Department.

Also, as electric current is generated from non-renewable coal fired power plants which are known to generate CO2 which contributes to anthropomorphic climate change, air conditioners as used in this act shall include all devices that consume electric current to circulate air.
Also, any Department of State employee who criticizes this act orally or in writing shall be found guilty of violating this act and shall be fined not less than $1000 per instance of criticism of this act. The fine shall be deducted from the employee’s paycheck.

Punka, large, manually operated fan. Wallah, a person engaged in menial labor. Which is why I thought it was funny that it briefly became fashionable among the pundit class in this benighted country to use “wallah” to mean “nabob”. “Pundit”, from the Hindi, “Pandit”, teacher, or expert.
They were probably confused by “Shakespeare Wallah”, a 1965 Merchant Ivory film. The story and screenplay are about a traveling family theater troupe of English actors in India, who perform Shakespeare plays in towns across India, amidst a dwindling demand for their work and the rise of Bollywood.

Don’t forget Kerry also warned about refrigerators, so no refrigerators should be allowed on State Dept. premises. Surely the EPA should join this ban against air conditioning and refrigeration. It’s for the children, you know.
