The head of the Democratic National Committee will not speak at the party's convention next week, a decision reached by party officials Saturday after emails surfaced that raised questions about the committee's impartiality during the Democratic primary.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz, whose stewardship of the DNC has been under fire through most of the presidential primary process, will not have a major speaking role in an effort "to keep the peace" in the party, a Democrat familiar with the decision said. The revelation comes following the release of nearly 20,000 emails.
One email appears to show DNC staffers asking how they can reference Bernie Sanders' faith to weaken him in the eyes of Southern voters. Another seems to depict an attorney advising the committee on how to defend Hillary Clinton against an accusation by the Sanders campaign of not living up to a joint fundraising agreement.

Sanders can melt down the ‘Rat convention — especially if this scandal grows with more leaks in the next few days, he might even be able to pressure enough Superdelegates to switch their support to him. He makes it a “MAD” (mutually assured destruction) ultimatum for the 2016 race — either they nominate him, or he will devastate Shrillary’s prospects.
He can deny her the election, for sure. The Superdelegates may be persuaded that he is their only hope in 2016. I know it sounds far-fetched, but if he really thinks through his power in the current situation, he will realize that he can pull this off. Enough of his followers are so outraged that they would follow him to the Green Party, or stay home. The SuperDelegates will have to switch to him or else know they lose the presidency in 2016. Will Bernie have the balls to pull this off?
delegate counts:
Clinton 2205
Sanders 1846
SuperDelegates 650
I would not be so sanguine about Sanders displacing Hillary as the nominee if I did not think Trump would beat him like a drum.
ok, it’s quite a long long shot for Sanders to get the nomination now, but if he decides to go ballistic I really think the Superdelegates could be persuaded that they have no alternative. Sanders convinces enough of them that he will pull the plug on Hillary’s candidacy, and they decide that he is their only option....???
And don’t forget “Hillary’s America” that opens 7/22!
Apparently there is already a movement building for a few days under the label
#DEMEXIT
It is “progressives” who will refuse to support Hillary in the general election. The DNC leaks and the sense that Bernie and his followers have been totally cheated out of the nomination may swell the numbers for this.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz will not be silenced for long.
She is a walking mouth with bad hair.
I guess Julian doesn’t know that Hillary is ABOVE THE LAW!!!
And she was talking smack last week about the RNC.

DWS wishes she had taken delete lessons from her mentor Crooked Hillary - too late now! hehehehe
Seriously - one can just imagine the content of the e mails that Hillary deleted based on the nature of these DNC e mails.
This illustrates the serious serious judgment issues rampant in the democratic party starting with Hillary who is CLEARLY not competent to run the country.
“...Hildabeast will skate...”
They will try this scenario but maybe she won’t skate this time completely because the Sanders supporters are actually mad. We can hope!
Would that be a first (a party chairman/chairwoman not speaking at the party’s convention?) Maybe not. It seems strange though.
I’m not sure if Priebus spoke at the RNC or not. I didn’t watch the whole thing.
Priebus spoke at the RNC
Your pic #112. Wasserman almost looks as wrinkled up as hillary. Ugh
I wish what you said about Bernie[get Clinton out of the way] was true, but I don’t think it will happen. More importantly, Hillary doesn’t believe it will happen. If she thought it might happen, Bernie would not be alive now. He, long ago, would have had a fatal “accident”.
The Bernie people are saying, "we told you so!" while the Hillary people are reminding them of DU's TOS that require they refrain from bashing Democratic candidates.
It's endlessly entertaining.
Thanks for the better take on this.
