When Arizona delegates to the Republican National Convention were asked Thursday how many would not vote for Sen. John McCain in next month's primary, more than half of their hands went up.
The question stunned veteran pollster Frank Luntz, who had asked it as a part of a presentation on the last day of the convention on the challenges facing the party - one of which was party unity.
"Oh my God," Luntz said. "Where's the chairman? You should have told me this before."

Thanks for the insight of what goes on behind the curtain.
Agree; however, there is also a third possibility; that is that the chairman was aware of Luntz being a GOP-e shill and actually sandbagged him.

What a delicious and plausible possibility!
McCain has been the least popular senator in the USA for a very long time.
I think Luntz acting surprised is really hard to believe
McVain only pretends to be conservative when up for re-election. The rest of the time he is cozy with his ‘Rat colleagues and MSM pals. No one needs to be Cantorized more than he does.
We’ll all be glad when he’s gone!
As for your point #1, which says Luntz did not find and recruit enough mccain supporters for the event, I don’t think he was aiming for that. As per the article, he polled the AZ delegation instead, which is a truer sample of the AZ gop primary vote.
:^) What are FRiends for? :^)
Hell, he didn’t even pretend, my friend...
It is just beyond amazing to me that the fine people of Arizona kept sending him back to DC instead of sending him packing.
I guess they were either comfortable with him, or just not paying attention to his antics.
He’s not even a good RINO - just a small, cranky, arrogant old man that needs to go home.
:-D Absolutely!
