Donald Trump's eldest daughter introduced two progressive issues her father hasn't championed on the campaign trail: equal pay for women and making childcare more widely accessible.
"He will fight for equal pay, equal work, and I will fight for this too, right alongside of him," Ivanka Trump said in remarks introducing the GOP presidential nominee at the Republican National Convention Thursday night. ..... < snip >
..... "As president, my father will change the labor laws that were put in place at a time when women were up a significant portion of the workforce," she said. "He will focus on making quality child care affordable and accessible for all." ..... < snip >

“Thats not where I come from.”
You come from the Canadian Cruz Kamp. Got it. Sucker.
This “equal pay” thing is nothing more than a feminist dog whistle. Total non-issue. Ugh!
That part of her speech was ridiculous.
Federal babysitters for rich Feminists.
This is not good.
I understand, but those days are gone; traditional American families are going the way of the dodo. This election is proof of that; those values are meaningless to many people under 40...
That issue reared its head in my part of NJ; some towns added full-day Pre-K (basically “free” daycare”), then walked it back because of the crushing property tax costs of adding those unionized teachers. Some eliminated it altogether, some returned to a 1/2 day Pre-K paired with 1/2 day Kindergarten (using the same teachers), and a few switched to a model where the users pay for it.
Ridiculous in an education system where even KINDERGARTEN isn’t a requirement - just more “free” daycare. Here in NJ (and I suspect in most places), children are expected to attend first grade (if they aren’t home-schooled).
Very true but irrelevant today with the 17th and 16th amendments being place..
Repeal the 17th and life will be much better in the USA.
[This election is proof of that; those values are meaningless to many people under 40...]
Young mothers would prefer to stay at home with their children if given the chance.
Sure; our cities are filled with people doing just that. The problem is getting American women to become mothers (and men to become fathers). Right now they are just working to provide for other peoples’ kids...
Getting concerned we have the left against the far left.

My pastor told our congregation if America fails it is because of the church. WE allowed this to happen by not being salt and light to society. Our nation is reaping the harvest of what was not sown.
Ha ha—good idea!
Wherever have you read that?
If that happens, branch banks all across America will close by the hundreds
I agree. The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to be repealed. The 16th Amendment can go too.
The WASPs who feared that Catholics would undermine the Republic they built have been vindicated; we are now so far removed from the Founding Fathers politically, with so many openly supporting socialism, abortion, and “gay marriage” (which have all been publicly condemned by previous Popes). The WASPs feared that Catholics would retain loyalty to Rome; oddly enough, it was breaking from Rome that has made Catholics here reliably Democrat. I know some subsets of the Catholic population will vote for traditional Christian values, but Dems still reliably carry most “catholic” areas...
Ivanka won’t be President Trump will.
Maybe she’ll keep herself busy running the business.
Yes I think she will.
This is the problem. Christian conservatives will stay home this election because they are not represented. Pence might help.
