One thing that turned me off about Cruz was his voice,
which I found very unpleasant

*************

All through the primary I never noticed his voice per se.
But having not heard him speak for sometime the voice
became noticeable to me and it wasn’t pleasant sounding.
jmo.

Thank you for the history. I am from New York State and love New York history.

Is Hamilton College in upstate New York named after him?

“...Newt ... cherry on top...”

Yes!!! I was hoping Newt would in some way address the traitorous move and he did - brilliantly as usual by keeping it above an ad hominem attack yet it was a verbal smack down directed to Cruz none-the-less!

Oh, I did notice the tone in his voice during the debates and it didn’t sound pleasant to me.

That I don't know, but it is a VERY safe bet. There is a Hamilton named street or building everywhere up here, from the city and to all points North above it.

They are. This is a divorce. I will never support any of these people and they’ve even lost some of the voters for these candidates as well who know they are sabotaging for Hillary.

“The great orator was rambling.”
That’s what I heard. No message. No thought flow. No cohesion. Just empty words.

Adelson shutting the door on Cruz ended Cruz’s political career.

Cruz is done. He may even lose his reelection in Texas.

I thought Ted Cruz was doing very well in his speech last night and I was feeling good about him coming back into the fold. Then he blew it. Stupid jerk.

Yes...I have some of those Cruz supporters in my circle of friends. It has made me really start to question their intelligence.

I think he's a prime candidate to get primaried so he may not even make it to the general in 2018.

It’s not his voice so much for me...it’s his cadence. That plus I just don’t trust him. He’s a politician and lawyer...2 strikes.

...it’s his cadence.

I think that may come from his early years of debate team competition. Pause for effect
on points you are trying to make. You’ll notice he pauses and nods his head for emphasis.
I think the public would prefer a more fluid style. jmo.

Thanks for the brief overview, although I'm most familiar w/ Hamilton's despicable charade during the Whiskey rebellion.

He led 12,000 NJ militia against my home county, Washington, PA when the total population here was 5,000.

At a recent Whiskey Rebellion festival his portrait was seen upside down in the residence of one of the rebellion's leaders.

Wow, thanks for mentioning that. It is heartening to know the folks over there not only remember but celebrate the event ( not the FedGov invasion, but the rebellion ). Them's my kind of people.

That’s right, Ted Cruz publically humiliated Melania Trump first by advertising a half naked photo shoot of her.

I never got the supposedly ‘bad’ picture of Heidi, she didn’t look that bad in it, and the people that say that it was not a flattering picture are the ones insulting her in my opinion.

The ‘spill the beans on Heidi’ comment was related to her work as VicePresident of Goldman Sacks, a perfectly valid line of attack in a presidential election.

So, please, the way it looked to me was that Ted was a Bully that tried to humiliate a woman first, got figuratively punched in the nose and figuratively is been crying ever since.

That’s the way to deal with bullies.
