WOULD NOT ENDORSE TRUMP

If offering cruzhole a primetime slot on day 3 of the convention is Trump’s act of — as you imply — dividing the base, then you are beyond help.
There you go again with that fixation.
>Right, that’s why the Trump insiders had to walk and encourage people to boo. And why there weren’t any boos when he made the statement you folks are so up-in-arms about, but only later after the whips had a chance to stir things up.
So? Ted broke his word. He deserved to be booed off the stage.
It really is time to move out and get done the job of electing our nominee, Donald Trump.
Oh, I’m a troll now? Not everone who disagrees with you is a troll. Honestly, your making a fool of yourself.
Bullcrap.
Trump had the choice to allow Cruz to speak or not. If Trump had NOT allowed Cruz to speak, THAT would have been vindictive, and people like you would have been screaming. Barring Cruz from the stage would have been dumb.
But Trump did the smart thing by figuratively handing Cruz a piece of rope. Cruz could have used that rope to bind people together, but instead he used that piece of rope to hang himself.
It's a shame that this supposedly brilliant person was so blinded by his ambition that he couldn't see what the outcome would be, but by looking back over the primary campaign, what Cruz did last night was totally in character.
I guess we’ll just have to disagree on this one.
I’m not following how he broke his word. Can you elaborate on that?
I’m not optimistic about it.
I”m glad I didn’t log on to my computer last night. I’d still be here now.
With 500+ posts I’m sure this has been said but I need to go on the record here.
I was a Trump #1 Cruz #2 guy for a while. Then Cruz began to reveal his true colors and I lost a lot of respect for him. Last night was the last nail in the Cruz coffin in my book. I’ll admit. He had me actually liking him again during that speech and I was willing to let the past be the past and chalk up his behavior in the primaries to inexperience and zeal.
When he reached the crescendo of his speech last night I turned to Mrs. Crusader and said that if he doesn’t endorse Trump after this speech he’s done.
Well, he’s done.
He signed a pledge to the RNC to endorse the republican candidate for president no mater who it was. He’s broken his word.
The text of the pledge: I [name] affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for president of the United States I will endorse the 2016 Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is. I further pledge that I will not seek to run as an independent or write-in candidate nor will I seek or accept the nomination for president of any other party.

Interesting that only a few posts later (no. 520 to be exact) you said this:
3) Calling people names is grade school behavior. Most of us outgrew that long ago.
What grade are you in?
That is interestng. I’ve seen Neil Boortz post to Twitter about a dozen times that the pledge was to support, not to endorse. I’ll have to look into it to see if what that source says is accurate. If so, I agree that he should have sucked up his pride and endorsed, much like Carson did. Thanks for the link.
Waaaaah, waaaah. Want some cheese with that whine?
But Trump did the smart thing by figuratively handing Cruz a piece of rope. Cruz could have used that rope to bind people together, but instead he used that piece of rope to hang himself.
Bingo. There was, demonstrably, no "trap" set for poor, guileless, whey-faced Cruz; he brought this all upon himself, by selfishly indulging in a pouty, pissy little temper tantrum -- live, before a broadcast audience of millions -- in the private, intimate venue of a massive sound stage during a major political convention.
No one cunningly tricked him into behaving like a tweener girl denied a Saturday trip to the mall with her friends.
No one forced or coerced him into standing up there on stage and deciding to hold his breath until he turned blue.
Adoring Cruz apologists need not despair, however: if everything they so self-evidently believe regarding their sulky boy-messiah does turn out to be true, he'll doubtless simply rise up again in three days, or something. ;)
Ted is getting killed on face book:
>Brad Decker Senator Cruz, I have been a huge supporter for many years, and have had the privilege of meeting you twice. You were so kind and obviously have a heart for this country. However, I am very disappointed in you, you said you would support the nominee when you signed the pledge, and you are no longer a man of your word. You let your ego get the best of you, and this is going to hurt your chances for 2020. You had the chance to help unite the GOP and endorse Trump, and cement your position for 2020, but instead you made a huge mistake. Very disappointed in you Senator, and I hope that you change your mind and help the GOP defeat Clinton!
