BRET BAIER: Tonight, in 30 seconds, can you definitively say you will support the Republican nominee, even if that nominee is Donald J. Trump?...Excerpted from the March 3, 2016, "All Four Candidates Pledge To Support GOP Nominee."
CRUZ: Yes, because I gave my word that I would. And what I have endeavored to do every day in the Senate is do what I said I would do.
It was sad to see, but tonight Ted Cruz flushed his word and his future as Senator, or as a future Presidential candidate, or even a potential SCOTUS nominee, down the toilet.
Newt auto-corrected Cruz speech!
In my opinion, the GOP came up with that contract idea to keep Trump from forming a third-party run. They (and I) did not expect Trump to win, but he did. Now these people have shown that they cannot be trusted.
Trump was not even in my top three at the beginning, but I am full supporting him now.
Cruz, the Bushes and Kasich (just to name a few) make me want to puke.
Laura Ingram (sp?) laid it all out in comments and told everyone to grow up and get behind Trump.
When they realized Cruz wasn’t going to endorse Trump, the crowd rightfully booed Cruz at the end of his high-flying, nonsensical rhetoric that was supposed to sound presidential.
Trump essentially gave Cruz the hook when he walked onto the convention floor and drew the cameras away from Cruz, thereby bringing Cruz’s speech to an end with the boos ringing from the crowd.
Cruz is FAR stupider and more egotistical than I had imagined to stand up in front of the party faithful and make a speech that was about nothing buy disloyalty and which was guaranteed to draw the boos that it did.
I was a Cruz guy from the beginning, but when he blamed Trump for the Marxist protesters in Chicago, I began to see I was wrong about him, tonight confirms it. I never was a big Trump fan, but he is the ONLY choice if you care about your country more than yourself, Hillary will be the end of America if she is president.
Obviously the intelligence of the American people is still in tact! They have made the right choice! God Bless Donald Trump and God Bless America! Cruz mad that perfectly clear tonight!
Hey Michael Berry of KTRH/Houston, see what people think of your buddy Ted Cruz now? Bummer, huh? No cushy job for your wife cuz Ted lost.
Michael, Oh, the tears of unfathomable sadness! My-yummy!
Stupid loser Ted and stupid loser Mike.
Cruz has fully and completely corroborated his critics.
Cruz is such an ass. He could not be a man, instead he was an insulant boy.
Too bad someone didn’t have the Snake song ready to be blasted through the sound system as soon as that fraud finished making a fool of himself. But of course that would have drawn unfavorable attention to Trump for inviting him to speak in the first place.
Sen. Cruz is now finished, I am also is finished with him.
What does Cruz plan to do to keep himself busy the next few years, if he’s on the outs with all sides & has no allies?
How will he raise money in the future, if his word is no good?
IDK.
He has a nastiness.” - Lou Dobbs rips into Ted Cruz after his RNC speech

I think Christie, Carson, Trump Jr or Pence has a greater chance for 2024 than Cruz
I was a Rubio supporter who will vote for Trump.
Here’s my take on the Cruz speech.
1. The Cruz non-endorsement will be the headline of the news for the next day. That’s a real loss for Trump and the party. That’s two days out of three that the campaign will have headlines they didn’t want.
2. I would have loved to be in the room when Cruz and Trump met. Two very stubborn men.
3. I expected Cruz to say something like “I pledged to support the Republican nominee and I’m a man of my word.”
4. Whatever Cruz wanted for his endorsement, Trump was not willing to give him. That’s fine if the price was too high, but if no deal could be made, Cruz shouldn’t have been allowed to speak. At the least he should have been moved to 3 pm.
5.I’m sure Cruz realizes this will hurt him. He’ll be fine. He can make $ 1 million a year as an appellate lawyer.
6. I think with Kasich and Cruz pissing into the tent, the convention has not gone as well as it should have. There may not have been anything to do about Kasich. He doesn’t seem to want anything to do with Trump. Cruz is more of a failure of negotiations. They should have been able to make a deal. If not he should not been allowed to speak.
Bill Clinton’s “father” (Mr.”read my lips”), Hillary’s “father-in-law”, refused to be present at the RNC, including his POTUS son not showing up either.
So instead, Jeb’s 2016 intended VP running mate was used to infiltrate and create Bush jeopardy.
Ted Cruz is a small, bitter, and repugnant loser.
Donald Trump is not only the bigger man, he is the better Christian.
It’s not a meteor you see streaking across the American sky tonight and into this morning. It’s just Ted Cruz’s once bright political career crashing down to Earth.
