Earlier today, Ed cracked into the curious story of how Ted Cruz is going to wind up addressing the Republican National Convention tonight, supposedly without endorsing the partys nominee. ... Jim Geraghty jumped into the same debate in todays edition of the Morning Jolt, ...
"Are we absolutely certain Trumps judicial picks will be good ones? Can he really secure the border, or will Trump water down his wall promises? Notice Rick Perry, who also spoke at the convention but who did not endorse or mention Trump from the stage, recently said its going to be a digital wall.
Are we absolutely certain Trumps judicial picks will be good ones?
No, Jim. Were not. But I know with an absolutely certainty what sort of picks Hillary Clinton will make. And this isnt your first rodeo. You know it just as well without being told.
Can he really secure the border?
Beats me, Jim. .. even if its a scaled back wall, a virtual wall, .., hes at least going to try. On the other hand, ...Hillary Clinton and all of the Americans in Waiting in Mexico and elsewhere?
For that matter, you can ask any number of other questions along those lines to keep casting doubt on the partys nominee. Will he be good enough on guns? We cant be sure, but the man has a concealed carry permit while Hillary is a proud fan of the Australian system of gun confiscation. Pick your poison, Jim. Will Trump raise taxes? Hillary has promised to.

As stated in other posts I think Donald J Trump was extending an olive branch out to Ted. We will just have to seed what Ted does with it.
Cause you’d like to think that adults could accept defeat gracefully and work for the greater good of their party and their country?
I’m gonna wait to pass judgment until I know what he will say. Later tonight. I am hoping he sees the light.
Because nominating conventions are traditionally and theoretically where hatchets are buried.
If you asked anyone at a Trump rally, “Would it be okay with you if Trump built a wall on the border, and allowed unlimited immigration through the country’s airports?”—obviously they would say “No!”
Everyone has always understood that the Wall is part literal, part metaphor. Both.
I assume because Trump is trying to do what people have been harping at him to do—try to unify the party, bring disaffected Cruz supporters on board, and because traditionally it would be seen as appropriate to allow someone who got a significant number of delegates to speak. What Cruz does with the opportunity will probably determine whether he has a political future, or will simply be known as the ultimate sore loser. like Mike Lee and the others.
Ball’s in his court.
Cruz was speaking as Trump Force One flew overhead today

Is Cruz still on the GOPee’s S-List? If so, let him speak at this anti-GOPee Convention.
Trump will always be the bigger man.
Ted’s speech writers will give him a speech that appeals to both Trump’s and his supporters so he doesn’t look like the sore loser he has been. To many, he’s already burnt his bridges. He’ll never get a vote from this Texas household.
Ronald Reagan NEVER endorsed Gerald Ford when he was nominated to run against Jimma Carter.
I wish people would start trying to respect Cruz and his supporters and invite us to join the fight against Hillary with support for Trump.
If we don’t get the BEST TURNOUT EVER, Hillary will win. There are more of them than there are of us in this country today. In that respect, dependence on the government has WON in this nation.
My analogy is rope. Cruz was given an ample length of rope. He can use it either as a lifeline or to hang himself. At this point, does anyone really care which he chooses?
Levin’s talking point? Seriously?
good thought
only an idiot would hang himself
his political career going forward will be decided by this speech
Nor this Texas family.
What did Levin say that I mentioned? I’m honored to think like him. Thank you.
(Seriously, what is Levin’s talking point? I haven’t been able to listen to him for a couple weeks.)
I’ll never vote for or donate to Ted Cruz.
You need an invitation to fight Hillary? Pound sand you little baby.
And it needs to be a golden invitation... Otherwise Hillary will win! Gotta love this logic.
