Fear and Loathing in Cleveland: Donald Trump Completes Nationalist Populist Takeover Of GOP
Breitbart ^ | JULY 17, 2016 | by MATTHEW BOYLE

The convention, which kicks off this morning, is sure to be filled with Trump’s style. Trump, his wife Melania, and children Donald, Jr., Eric, Ivanka and Tiffany, will each speak throughout the week. The themes of the party’s convention this year—normally a coronation for a run-of-the-mill ordinary Republican—will be anything but ordinary. Over each day will loom a Trumpian-phrased theme, like Monday’s “Make America Safe Again” or Tuesday’s “Make America Work Again.” Wednesday will be “Make America First Again” day, and on Thursday Republicans will celebrate the goal to “Make America One Again.”

Outsiders like Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Dr. Ben Carson and retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn will be heralded and celebrated here, while crony-type D.C. insiders like former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney—the failed 2012 GOP nominee—and failed 2008 GOP nominee Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) will be nowhere to be found.

Lobbyists aren’t welcome around the convention, and typical D.C. power-brokers are running as far away from Trump as possible. Trump, who has campaigned aggressively against these insiders, doesn’t want them here anyway. He even, just this week, called himself “so outside of the establishment” when he introduced his vice president.

The corrupt elites in the Republican Party are acting like spoiled children. They don’t like it that the people have selected someone from outside their little club house.

To hell with them. Its time for responsive leadership and Trump represents that.

IMHO this article needs to be read from start to finish. One of the best written descriptions I’ve seen why Trump won the nomination and why he’ll (hopefully) win the Presidency.

Captain Obvious is sitting here drinking coffee with me, and he says...

"The obvious problem for these Republican @$$holes is that once Trump gets into office, there's going to be light shed on a lot of stuff that had been happening in the dark before now. The ones that are squealing like stuck pigs are the ones with the most to hide. I hate to say it, (remember this is Captain Obvious speaking, not me), but tracking some of them down and axing them a few pointed questions might actually be kinda fun."

Where do we send the elite backstabbers "thank you" notes for self-purging? How low class does it get, former presidents, party nominees, and many of the wannabees who signed the pledge still acting like spoiled brats? One TV commentator even mentioned that Kasick is an embarrassment to OH.

As I predicted, Mayor Jackson is doing just fine in TV interviews as the dignitary welcoming everyone to Cleveland and OH, and making guests and residents feel confident about the preparations. Unbelievable that not one elected Republican in OH is providing any of that. Irony...I'm thinking it might help Trump in November.....everyone I know is fed up with the ruling class in this state.

JMHO

It wouldn’t have happened if the GOP had not become such an abject FAILURE, completely abandoning conservative principles which Reagan made popular and refusing to attack the Left for what it is. All the GOP did was adopt that Label “conservative” for election cycles, under the cynical belief the party core would never figure out the deceit. Well, we have have. That should have been clear to the GOP big government elites since 2008. But they’re the ones who still haven’t figured it out: we DESPISE them.

The Republican elites have an unwarranted sense of political entitlement. They act like they’re the enlightened ones who lead the way for the unwashed masses to follow. What is really going on is that there is a corrupt system in DC and all the players know it. The game they play (on both sides) is to wield power and protect their influence in order to feed from great financial trough that flows through the streets of the Capitol.

Now Trump comes along and threatens to expose the corruption, malfeasance and ineptitude and, at least temporarily, put an end their dirty little scam. He’s not one of them and doesn’t need to play their game. They are terrified of what he might do. He can’t be bought.

"They forgot to call him a National Populist Agrarian , like Uncle Levin describes it."

Funny how self-important Mark Levin thinks that there is something wrong or un-American about a nationalist populism... since that describes exactly what the American Colonials were as they took on the Crown in the War of Independence.

The Founding elite whose names we know get the attention in history class but the Revolution was a mass movement of what the Colonials called The Body of the People, or 'The Body' for short. The Body was who showed up at the Boston Massacre, who marched in the thousands on the mansions of the Royal Governors and trashed them, who rallied at Liberty Trees and Liberty Poles across the colonies. They became the militia and the Continental Line when the fighting started.

Ray Raphael's book Founders: The People Who Brought You a Nation does a good job of describing the long forgotten 'national populist agrarianism' of The Body of the People. Read about The Body and you'll recognize a whole lot of what is going on with the Trump Revolution. Levin and his ilk are no different than the court followers of the Crown who wanted to keep the neat and tidy arrangement that made them important.

However the MSM decides to skew the polls, it’s Trump’s race to lose.
