Pence Once Cited 'Mulan' As Proof Women Don't Belong In Military (here come tepid MSM attacks)

Donald Trump's new running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, wrote in a 1999 op-ed that the Disney film "Mulan" was liberal propaganda used to foster debate about women serving in the military.

“Despite her delicate features and voice, Disney expects us to believe that Mulan’s ingenuity and courage were enough to carry her to military success on an equal basis with her cloddish cohorts,” Pence wrote in the op-ed, which was first reported by Buzzfeed. “Obviously, this is Walt Disney’s attempt to add childhood expectation to the cultural debate over the role of women in the military," wrote Pence, who was a talk show host in Indiana at the time.

Pence wrote that "some mischievous liberal" at Disney created the movie to change the next generation's attitude about women in combat.

“(Just think about how often we think of Bambi every time the subject of deer hunting comes into the mainstream media debate.)

“It is instructive that even in the Disney film, young Ms. Mulan falls in love with her superior officer! Me thinks the politically correct Disney types completely missed the irony of this part of the story,” writes Pence.

“They likely added it because it added realism with which the viewer could identify with the characters. You see, now stay with me on this, many young men find many young women to be attractive sexually. Many young women find many young men to be attractive sexually. Put them together, in close quarters, for long periods of time, and things will get interesting. Just like they eventually did for young Mulan. Moral of story: women in military, bad idea.”

our movies shape our stupid intellects mightily.

we started, culturally, promoting stupid stuff like women soldiers and backtalking princesses and people persecuted for being “different” (wink wink homosexual) and animals that were actually noble souls -

and you know it really does affect peoples values, growing up?

Not having “bad guys,” but having “good guys” romanticized for being really anti-social.

our movies used to, in the main, celebrate real virtues like selflessness, bravery, humility, honesty. . .

that’s gotten pretty twisted. even the “cleanest” movies at least imply people fornicating as though that is pure love, and bow at the altar of various politically correct themes.

It has a warping effect.

As I sometimes like to contrarianly point out, we might be more honest now than then, if the amount of actual dedication to the Lord (not mere appearance) is the same.

Ungodliness that looks like ungodliness is more honest than a form of religion that denies its power.

Very well said (written). Finishing with “It has a warping effect.” It really has. Thank you.

Whatever she could do..kick, wrestle...the kick wouldn’t phase me, I’ve been hit by animals a few hundred times in a fight.

I’d toss her off like a rag doll if she did a wresting move.

But she would never get that far.

She would never avoid the first punch.

It’s too funny to even consider.

You’re right. Chivalry is a powerful thing in society.

And it make society that much weaker when it’s gone.

Women used to trade sex for marriage and a lifetime commitment.

Now it’s traded (FReeper women excepted) for a few drinks or a dinner.

From what my nephew tells me of hsi generation, not even that sometimes.

The men are just as guilty. But the male sex drive is medically proven to be much stronger, so the woman is in the driver’s seat.

About 20 years ago, I was dropping a first date off and she invited me inside. And it wasn’t to eat cookies and milk.

I knew she had two KIDS in the house and she was letting a strange man in?!?! I dropped her off and didn’t go in and went home and took a cold shower.

Boy was she hot.

Have you calculated how many 5 year olds you could fight at the same time?
