Donald Trump's new running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, wrote in a 1999 op-ed that the Disney film "Mulan" was liberal propaganda used to foster debate about women serving in the military.
Despite her delicate features and voice, Disney expects us to believe that Mulans ingenuity and courage were enough to carry her to military success on an equal basis with her cloddish cohorts, Pence wrote in the op-ed, which was first reported by Buzzfeed. Obviously, this is Walt Disneys attempt to add childhood expectation to the cultural debate over the role of women in the military," wrote Pence, who was a talk show host in Indiana at the time.
Pence wrote that "some mischievous liberal" at Disney created the movie to change the next generation's attitude about women in combat.
(Just think about how often we think of Bambi every time the subject of deer hunting comes into the mainstream media debate.)
It is instructive that even in the Disney film, young Ms. Mulan falls in love with her superior officer! Me thinks the politically correct Disney types completely missed the irony of this part of the story, writes Pence.
They likely added it because it added realism with which the viewer could identify with the characters. You see, now stay with me on this, many young men find many young women to be attractive sexually. Many young women find many young men to be attractive sexually. Put them together, in close quarters, for long periods of time, and things will get interesting. Just like they eventually did for young Mulan. Moral of story: women in military, bad idea.

Severe headline / article content disconnect.
As if one were not expecting them.
And the problem of not having women in the military is?
He stated that very well. And he was right.
I’m sure 4 or maybe even 6 people out of 300 million will give a flying #### about this.
I was about 250 (i’m 5 10, ex boxer) in the late 90s. Had gotten out of shape. Still brutally strong.
No less than four feminists challenged me to arm wrestle, boxing match, weight lifting and their martial arts skill against my boxing.
Didn’t hurt the arm wrestle gal but felt NOTHING. Nothing. No pressure at all. Didn’t beat her. Just let her walk away. That was in the office.
We had a company gym. Bench press. She got up 30 pounds, I got up 250. 330 high when i was boxing.
The boxer, I just laughed because I couldn’t get in ring with her.
The martial artist, I punched a piece of the wall off in front of her and she changed her mind.
Hmmmmmm, voters will have to balance these horrible, beastly (/s) remarks from Pence against the fact that Hillary lied and committed treason against this country. Tough call. Tough call.
Wow, the desperation is showing early. C’mon, RATS, really? This is all you got?
The attacks will tend to be more rabid than tepid.
But-but-but. . .Buffy on TV, all 100lbs, can kick-box and stomp the stuffing out of a 250lb bad guy - and not even get winded. Must be true because it’s on TV and in the movies.
Never ceases to amaze me how fast the msm can find stuff on gop-e candidates.....yet cannot find one girlfriend bammy or clinton went out with in high school or college.
lol. Or Charlie’s Angels. The new ones.
Or just about any woman cop on any show or any female action hero.
My friend, when he was a cop 20 years ago, said female police NEVER engaged, they called and waited for the guys to come.
As for Ronda Roussy, I heard a lot so I watched a match. She’s good. But she punches like a girl. Couldn’t break an egg.
She would Never get close enough to me to use the fancy stuff and would be out cold with one shot.
True.
I would never want to be on either end of a bayonet charge but I would not want to be a young woman who horribly realized far too late that she had been lied to.
I hit hard when I was boxing, and I would knock her out cold for a few.
Some of the OTHER beasts at that gym would KILL her with a punch.
They broke my nose, ribs, cheek bone. The knuckles I broke because I liked hitting the bag with just the wraps :)
As long as you didn’t bust up your wrist.
And emoticon.
;-)
So, what is the problem?
No. The wraps make your wrist stiff as a board. They are incredibly long and tough.
Still, hitting the bag with just them was dumb but it wasn’t all there back then
Pence was right, they don’t belong in most combat roles. He’s also right that years of liberal propaganda have help to obscure that truth. 100% true.
If women belong in combat, they also belong in the NBA, the NFL, and MLB.
What’s more serious, a fight to the death, or an athletic contest? If they can’t do it for fun, they sure as hell can’t do it when it’s life or death.
