Hillary Clinton Was Ready to Pounce on Trump's VP
CNN ^ | 7/16/16 | Chris Moody

Hillary Clinton might have been more prepared for Donald Trump's vice presidential rollout than Donald Trump. In the crucial moments after Trump announced he had chosen Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate with a tweet on Friday, Clinton's campaign sprang into action, while Trump's team missed several opportunities to capitalize on its own news and be the first to frame the narrative around the new partnership.

Within 15 minutes of Trump's initial tweet, Clinton responded with a video outlining a point-by-point case against Pence.

” Even though we would never ever have voted for Obama, many of us here voted for McCain only because of his VP pick.”

You got that right.

I pretended Sarah’s name was at the top of the ticket to be able to vote.

I live in AZ, am registered R and have not voted McPain since I can’t remember.

Here’s the email solicitation the HRC campaign sent me. I’m on their list:

“Donald Trump has been running a campaign predicated on his strength as a decision maker — he keeps touting his judgment, his business savvy, and his self-confidence.

How did that play out when it came time to pick his running mate?

The entire process was public and unapologetically competitive. It felt like watching a reality show: Trump put out a short list, went back and forth on his decision, pushed the deadline to decide, pulled down his own press conference, then upstaged himself at the last minute by announcing on Twitter.

And just after he told the world that Mike Pence would be his vice presidential nominee, CNN reported** that he was up past midnight on Thursday evening trying to find a way out of his decision.

That’s Donald Trump as a leader. Divisive, sure. Decisive? No.

The kinds of decisions that come across the president’s desk are not easy ones. We need a person in the Oval Office who we trust to have the final say.

Chip in right now to help build the kind of team it’s going to take to ensure that the toughest decision Trump has to make in the future is which tie to wear with his overpriced suits:

************

**CNN reporting something does not mean much. Their credibility and viewership is scraping all-time lows; and this goes for people who cite them as a reliable source.

************

Make your own judgement. Unabashedly shallow. And really untrue. The VP choice [is the type of decision that] comes across his desk every day? Really? I don’t think so. I think it’s the kind of decision that comes across his desk every...what is it now, four years?

Let there be no doubt, Trump’s VP choice was/is a very, very tricky one on a strategic basis. I for one believe Pence was and is an excellent choice, and it has terrific parallel to 0bama choosing Biden. Which was, regardless of our collective opinion of Biden and regardless of how incredibly wrong Biden has been on almost every decision he has ever made, VERY EFFECTIVE. Pence is IMO among the straightest of straight shooters and this choice should be encouraging if you believe, as I do, that HRCs credibility is an absolute core issue if not the single core issue in her political future.

The choice of Pence in one stroke obliterates the concern that Trump is a loose cannon and has no idea how to work with Congress; while leaving Trump to be his independent and sometimes wild self. It’s a superb strategic choice.

AT THIS MOMENT the choice of Pence, strategically, is about EFFECTIVENESS as to winning the election. Longer term it is about “wisdom”. IMO Pence is a winner on both.

This is how leaders make their decisions. They consider lots of things. They talk to many people. They yes, waffle, take the other side of themselves, spend time thinking about and living within the alternatives, and gradually but over reasonably short time reach a decision , make that decision, and then move on comfortably knowing well they have done their waffling and are now done. This is not how HRC or 0bama makes their decisions. In the case of 0bama, surrounded by sycophants and societal miscreants, he spends his decision time rejecting any contrary opinion from those who forget their place of timidity and dare to speak up. And HRC makes her decisions by working offers that will enrich her while still trying to impose Alinskyism upon her inferiors...which in case you might be wondering, are the rest of us. 0bamas’ decisions are ideologically-driven unilateral diktats based upon lies and the American people be damned.

The supporters of HRC in my non expert opinion are either genitalians, gibmedats, or incurable hard wired liberals. But the convertibles within all of those classes can not, will not and by all rights should not tolerate being lied to. Particularly on the demonstrably consistent level of HRC. I challenge anyone to come up with one single damned thing she has said that is true. “I’ve worked all my life for blah blah blah” does not qualify unless you are an idiot lib, because all those statements are untrue as well. She is a career criminal and an insatiable grifter who will sell out anything and anyone if she thinks it will put a dollar in her pocket. Plus she has bungled literally everything she has touched as SOS to the point where there are half a dozen internecine wars going on over there that are only growing in intensity and promise to be incredibly difficult cancers to eradicate....if we can.

For Trump to erode her support: He has to 1: focus on this lying, this pathological compulsion to lie. And 2: To get the shock of Bernie’s endorsement and the FBI case-drop to get it into peoples’ heads that HRC is the very embodiment of Wash DC insider corruption and cronyism and would be in jail if it wasn’t for rules that WILL NEVER APPLY to those mindless fools who support her.

And non-drones (convertibles) IMO are going to reach this conclusion sooner or later, because this incessant lying (which of course can be tied to 0bamas’ incessant lying) undermines EVERYTHING.

The whole world saw her lie and not give a crap about lying and get away with it solely on the premise that she is who she is. No convertible voter with any functioning neurons can believe they will get away with this private section of the criminal code reserved for HRC. Illegal aliens can hope. But it is my belief that this vicious and immutably tendency and compulsion to lie without end has great potential to erode her youth and middle-class housewife support, big time.

If she were to pounce, all she’d do is bounce.

Pence was an reasonable guess long before Thursday. No way was the VP going to be another 70 year old. That just wasn’t going to happen.

Christie failed the background vetting when he was on Romney’s short list for 2012. Several other candidates like Ernst declined to take part in the vetting process.

Michael Caputo named Pence on CNN two weeks ago.

I know we need to know what the opposition is spouting but i would have a hard time picking that crap out of my mail box, either the physical one or the e-mail one.

You are a brave dude or dudette in my mind.

Yep, this is the way I look at it. They couldn’t go after the war hero, so they made a narrative that Palin was an airhead redneck who talked like a backwoodsman and was stupid. Tina Fey comes to mind. You don’t understand many many LIVs really think she said those things. They destroyed Palin and her family.

Mike Pence on the other hand won’t be nearly as easy for them to attack.

I do wish someone would post the link of his 28 min speech. I want to hear it. I live in Texas and know nothing about Mike Pence. I heard his speech was quite conservative and want to see and hear it. Please post it.

The boosting of Hillary by CNN is wishful thinking. They are just broadcasting her campaign response.

No one is listening to Hillary. People know she wants to bring in one million Muslims. Crazy. The news cycle is terror, Trump and Pence.

“The Clinton campaign....must have had some inside information that Trump was going to select Pence.

It all makes one wonder, just how did Hillary know so far in advance that Trump was going to pick Pence.

.. this can only mean that Hillary must have spies infiltrating the very top levels of Team Trump.

I sure hope Trump is able to identify the spies...The Clinton campaign, to be able to produce all those videos about Pence, must have had some inside information that Trump was going to select Pence.

It all makes one wonder, just how did Hillary know so far in advance that Trump was going to pick Pence.

Being that Trump kept the Pence pick a secret, right up until the announcement, this can only mean that Hillary must have spies infiltrating the very top levels of Team Trump.

I sure hope Trump is able to identify the spies and tell them that they are fired.

**************

Without a doubt. However a wiser and more strategic man would actually very carefully test for potential saboteurs and use them to selectively leak falsehoods that self-implode.

The witch has long had her oppo research team looking for mud to throw at all possible VP contenders: Newt, Christie, Pence, etc. It’s like how obituaries of famous people are written well before they die.

I think the Clinton campaign already had “boilerplate” responses to the choosing of Pence, Sessions, Gowdy, Christie and Gingrich ready at least for two weeks.
