He is an excellent pick and sends a signal to the base that Trump is willing to put a decent conservative one heart beat from the presidency.

I am watching Hannity interview Pence and I am quite impressed with Mike Pence. He is well spoken, sincere, intelligent and I know he will a good VP for Trump and the country. I saw the last bit of the Megan Kelly show and she was dismissive of Trump and his pick and I was so disgusted. She insinuated that Trump was having second thoughts about Pence etc. because yesterday he said he would not have his TV announcement today because of the terror attack in France and then he announced anyway. She did not explain that Pence had to know before noon today if he was the official pick by Trump because that was the deadline for filing to run again in Indiana. These anti Trump people in the media are arrogant and pretentious and will continue to nit pick and undermine the Trump campaign however they can. I am confident that Mike Pence will be a big asset to the campaign. Congratulations to Mike Pence on being chosen to be Donald Trump’s Vice President. Two patriotic Americans I am proud to support.

I disagree with Pence’s plan too, but I don’t think you are really being fair here. His plan was that two years would first be devoted to securing the border. After that illegals would have to go back to their home countries and go through full background checks and health screenings before being given a two-year work visa, rather than full legal status and eventual voting rights. Yes, the folks at VDare hated it understandably, but that really was a compromise from the immediate pathway to citizenship amnesty and continued open borders that a lot of Congressmen and Senators wanted.
Once again, I don’t like this or any other plan that even vaguely resembles amnesty, but overall if you look at his voting record Pence has been much better on border issues than the average Republican, including voting for a border fence/wall back in 2006 and against birthright citizenship/anchor babies in 2009 (among several other tough on the border proposals I listed earlier).

That may or may not be a valid point, but Pence seemed to be really cowardly on that issue, as was Asa Hutchinson in AR and Nathan Deal in GA.
I hope he is an excellent pick, but this selection makes Agnew look good in comparison, and Agnew couldn’t hold MD in 1968.

What your “positions,” are is clear from my posts. You believe the MSM lie/smear that Trump had second thoughts about choosing Pence *after* he chose him [there is zero reliable evidence of this] but when called on it, you shift to, ‘Trump couldn’t make up his mind,’ mode.
Iow, any criticism of Trump is good enough for you, even if you have to contradict yourself to make your case.
