Meanwhile, a multiple felon who was given a pass by other multiple felons in government (see: conspiracy to obstruct justice, and obstruction of justice), is given no scrutiny AT ALL.

Gingrich suggested Trump would lose big if he didnt change his style in the general election campaign to follow Ronald Reagan rather than Barry Goldwater. Reagan in his successful 1980 campaign united Republicans around a compelling message of optimism, while Goldwaters 1964 campaign failed when many voters perceived him as a candidate of the extreme right. Gingrich said he thought Trump would make this pivot. If he and his team understand this, Gingrich said, I suspect they will evolve rapidly. What an ass. Hey Newt, FYI, millions of people regard "Make America Great Again" AS optimism.

Trump = “an American nationalist”.
YES!
That is one of the reasons that I love Newton Leroy Gingrich.
(I previously thought that I was a Conservative. Now I know that I have always been a Conservative American Nationalist).

Exactly.
Full disclosure: I don’t feel Newt is a good VP pick. Politics of the 90s, the divorce thing, won’t get women votes, not telegenic. Chief of Staff, yes.
Christie seems like a solid AG pick. But it’d be great to see him destroy whatever Hillary VP pick shows up to that VP debate.
Don’t know much about the rest. Thought Trump would be looking at swing state pick or a woman to narrow the gender gap.

Gingrich spoke about Donald Trump yesterday and said that Trump was one of the smartest men he has ever met in his life. I guess when you get to know Donald Trump your thinking about him changes. It is too bad that this type of reporting gets out their to misinform people.

Newt stands in awe of Mr. Trump, if only because he won the GOP nomination whereas Newt's lead in Iowa was short lived when he ran for the nomination.

Gingrich is poison as a VP potential.
I think that he is bright enough, but really just a pragmatist with no core beliefs.
I will vote for Trump enthusiastically as long as he does not embrace Cruz or any other non NBC candidate.
I will not compromise on that standard.

I would say that this is what virtually all of the political class, both parties, thought in February. The question is what has Newt learned since, is he sincere in admiring Trump etc. I think it is highly likely that since Feb. Newt has learned a great deal about Trump’s leadership on both substance and temperament, and that Newt is totally sincere in wanting to work with not against Trump.

Yea, I just think when it comes to delivering a clear anti-hillary message, Trump will not do better than Christie...

Still, Gingrich suggested Trump would lose big if he didnt change his style in the general election campaign to follow Ronald Reagan rather than Barry Goldwater. Reagan in his successful 1980 campaign united Republicans around a compelling message of optimism, while Goldwaters 1964 campaign failed when many voters perceived him as a candidate of the extreme right. Gingrich said he thought Trump would make this pivot. So the Grich was saying Trump has no unifying optimistic message.
The effing idiot wouldn't understand a "Make America Great Again" slogan if someone slapped that bumper sticker on his forehead.

Newt is speaking in the video to an elite insider group. THEY don’t understand Trump. They are out of touch with the average American.
Trump’s message is positive - there’s still a chance America can be great again. These days that’s looking like a pie in the sky dream.

Needs repeated to the hills and Heavens! You got it exactly right. Newt holds his finger in the wind and pops his ideas out of his nether regions.
