IMHO that's why he can't..just can't get the nod. He would need to be on a leash and muzzle 24/7...not that I doubt that the Trump brothers could keep him in line but they've got better things to do.

It must be a credentialed person who error it is. Male, female, Hispanic, black, Asian, white....they must have stellar accomplishments. Name recognition wouldn’t hurt.
A lot of people who were never even under consideration to begin with turned it down.
I got a text promising that I would be the first to know who his pick is if I joined the team and donated. (I’ve been donating for several weeks now) and did so and I never got this text. That’s it! It’s Hillary for me now! Can’t trust a text teaser! LOL...
I agree. I really want it to be none of the “top three”. It wouldn’t change my vote if it were Newt or Pence but I would love a surprise choice. While others think the VP won’t matter, I think in Trumps case the VP could consolidate the establishment. I know that doesn’t sound good, but he needs every vote he can get. Some one who’s a little “inside baseball” but a Trump team player. Someone who can pull those losers back into the fold without selling out! Because Hillary is going to cheat her way in if its close.

Someone (can’t remember who) noted that the RNC speakers list had a place marker for ‘Vice President’ thus indicating the possibility that someone who IS listed as a speaker will not be the VP. I have not seen that so can’t vouch for the accuracy.
However, listed by name on the speakers’ list:

Well.... Newt is on the list.
Sarah is not. Neither is Pence.
The point I was making is there is a good chance the VP will NOT be someone on the “media’s short list”.
Until Trump publically makes his announcement, it could be one of many candidates...including those who are “not scheduled to be at the convention”.
