I really don’t want Governor Fatass as Veep.
Rudy doesn’t want it and he isn’t on the list.
I'm hoping that it's nobody that has been talked about!
Listen n00b, you best stop insulting a fellow FREEPER, especially without a ping to that person, since YOU are the one who is damned dead wrong about the VEEP choice.
“Im guessing Pence, Newt and Christie are being vetted for other positions. (Christie AG - Newt Chief of Staff - Pence ?)”
Pence , possibly VP - but I’m sure others are on the secret , unleaked list .
Good choices. Sessions & Huckabee have been quiet lately an remember Trump is unpredictable. Someone keep an eye on the whereabouts of those two the next couple of days. Can Rudy be VP since Trump is from New York also?
Christie has Trump’s back and that is the #1 requirement of a VP.
Pence was on the radio in the 1990’s and none of that has been vetted nationally.
Newt is radioactive to independents.
I heard Pat Buchanan on the radio talking about others who may be VC one the veep. Why was Pat not considered? He was a major player at one time.
NEWT NEWT NEWT!! Nobody even close!!
TRUMP/NEWT 2016!! The key to success.
Pat is a VERY divisive man and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too old to be VEEP! he’s also been out of politics a very long time and never won an election.
How old are you, WENDLE ?
You have a death wish; poor baby.......
Thank you for the context and more clarity.
Some say it's the Norquist influence.
No denying he's a scrapper, and would have the Don's back with the relentless attacks and the candidate wants that, but the Islam thing is a problem for me.
I can't say I like any of the finalists, even Newt has big baggage most people have forgotten, like why he resigned as Speaker. He and Pence are way, way better, and I'm not alone in admittinf that I'll be demoralized if he picks Christy.
Cotton is a never Trumper.
Hey..... I love Newt. I have defended him against the sanctimonious Freepers for years.
He is old
He is in my view better suited to Oval Office Policy for the next 50 years. His ability to actually look beyond this afternoon is sorely needed.
Therefore, pence in the trenches with the knives seems to me to be the better choice
Any way, I am not going to be upset if either is the choice. Both are great men
Christie is very weak on the 2A, which makes him hard for me to stomach.
Of course it is hard to be worse than Hillary on that, so Trump would still have my vote.
When asked about NJ and why it is so gun-unfriendly Christie hid behind the NJ legislature. As Governor he has the power to change this -- all he has to do is announce that he will pardon every person charged with violating a list of NJ guns laws he considers unreasonable, not just a handful of highly publicized cases.
This lets the rest of the country know which laws he considers faulty...
As with several fundamental issues, the SCOTUS will have more to say, and probably the final say, about the 2nd amendment. The next two or three SCOTUS appointments are far more critical than who the VP might be.
But I'm not really excited about any of them. They all have come up short on key issues in the past, especially trade, amnesty and immigration in general. And it's a crap shoot of what any of them would do if they should have to replace Trump some day.
I just think Cristie has the most long term promise if he really aligns himself with Trump on the key issues. And he's only 53. If Trump wins and has a lot of success, I doubt Cristie would abandon Trump's policy issues if he should become president in the future.
Looks like pense. Hardly a conservative is he? Oh well all he does is break ties in the Senate. Newt will be the legislative liaison. Great!!
